THE BAND OF HAQ "There will ever remain a band from my Ummah fighting on the Haq until the Day of Qiyaamah. Those who oppose them and those who do not aid them, will not be able to harm them." (Hadith) A PART FROM THE actual Jihad in the Battlefields of Afghanistans' mountains, valleys, plains, villages, town and cities, the Taliban have also engaged the U.S.A. on the propaganda field to counter the falsehood and misinformation America via its C.I.A. is feeding the world. Describing their activities in this field, the Taliban say in their monthly journal, Shariat: "The year 2012 has seen numerous successes in the Islamic Emirate's department of information and publication. The Commission of Culture consisting of 60 branches has attained its annual target. All activities pertaining to publication, internet, radio and telephone services were systematically executed by the Commission of Culture despite many obstacles. A summary of the Jihad of the past 11 years has also been prepared in book form and shall soon be published. The website, Al-Amaarah, has successfully operated in five languages. A total of 10 websites are being operated. The enemy has left no stone unturned to close down Al-Amaarah website However, our companions have countered the attacks of the enemy and have managed to defeat them even in this field……….." The Taliban have described in much detail the 'jihad' in the propaganda field. Since we do not believe this to be of much significance we have sufficed with the few extracts mentioned above. Another dimension of the propaganda effort which does not bode well for the lasting success of the Mujahideen is the Taliban's efforts at wooing the international community. In this regard, the Taliban said: "In the past few years some people said that whilst the Taliban have been successful on the battlefield, planting the flags of victory, stage by stage, however, there has been no similar political successes. It should be understood that during the past decade the crisis in the political area is not due to any weakness of the Islamic Emirate. On the contrary, unfavourable circumstances did not afford the Islamic Emirate any opportunity of mounting the political stage. ……. The most arrogant and the vilest rulers of America did not offer the slightest political recognition to its opponent, the Islamic Emirate. The U.S. exercises a stranglehold on the political stages of the world. It was not possible for the Mujahideen engrossed in the battlefield to also confront the U.S. in the political domain. However, in recent years, the political power of the U.S. has commenced to wane. Commensurate to the weakening of America's political and military power, the military and political power of the Islamic Emirate have been increasing. Now, currently as a result of the barkat of the Jihad, the ground has been cleared for the Islamic Emirate to mount the political stage as well….. On 3 January, 2012, the Political Office of the Islamic Emirate announced that the Islamic Emirate has been successful in an agreement with the Islamic country, Qatar, to establish a political presence. (Note: Qatar is not an Islamic country. It is governed by kufr – AlHaq) A few representatives of the Islamic Emirate are already present in the capital city, Doha. This move has been internationally acclaimed. (The international acclaimers are kuffaar, fussaaq and fujjaar, all wallowing in physical and spiritual janaabat – Al-Haq) It has been interpreted to be a great victory for the Mujahideen. (There should be no solace for the Taliban in this hypocritical interpretation of these munaafiq enemies posing now as sympathizers. Why are the Taliban so short in memory? Do they forget how all these evil kuffaar and fussaq had rejoiced when America bombed the Taliban out of Kabul 11 years ago? –Al-Haq) The Taliban have now successfully established a political address for themselves. (There is nothing to be proud of this crumb offered by the U.S. on a platter via its surrogate, Qatar – Al-Haq) The political office is now able to conduct unrestricted negotiations. Thus, the Islamic Emirate has emerged from the siege of the international political domain. The Taliban have now achieved the opportunity to openly refute the false propaganda of the enemy. (No! surrogate states to host and pamper the Taliban. All of this was part of the American conspiracy to transform Afghanistan into another surrogate state such as Saudi Arabia for achieving its strategic goals and establishing its hegemony. The Taliban blundered by becoming forgetful of Allah Ta'ala and forgetful of the objective of Hukoomat (governance). They had forgotten that Allah Ta'ala says in the Qur'aan: "If We grant them political power on earth, they establish Salaat, pay Zakaat, command virtue and prohibit evil. And, the ultimate result of all affairs is for Allah (to decide)." (Aayat 41, Al-Hajj) The Taliban had become neglectful of the mission for which Allah Ta'ala had granted them sovereignty in Afghanistan. It is this neglectful attitude which had induced the Taliban to abandon their initial diligence in the matter of establishing Salaat. The initial law enforcing Salaat on the entire population was forgotten, and the wonderful system which the Taliban had initially introduced to ensure that the entire country comes to a standstill at Salaat times – five times daily – to enable Salaat to be performed with jamaat in all the Musaajid of the land, was sadly abandoned. Along with the abandonment of this fundamental obligation, the Taliban began casting long, lustful gazes at the kuffaar world for recognition. They pursued this satanic effort to the degree of moral depravity by begging to be admitted to the immoral kufr Olympic games, but they were gnominiously debarred from participation. It was indeed a shockingly lamentable step for an Islamic government who proclaimed the rule of the Qur'aan and the Sunnah, to crave for Olypmic games admission. In the light of the Qur'aanic prohibition to look askance at the kuffaar for recognition, the Taliban's conduct was deplorable. Says the Qur'aan Majeed: 'AND ALLAH SUFFICES IN BATTLE FOR THE MU'MINEEN VERI- LY, HE IS MOST POWERFUL AND MIGHTY.' (Aayat 25, Ahzaab) "IF YOU (O MU'MINEEN! ADOPT SABR AND TAQWA, THEN NEVER EVER WILL THEIR PLOT HARM YOU IN THE LEAST BIT." (Aayat 120, Aal-e-Imraan) "IF ALLAH AIDS YOU, THERE WILL BE NONE TO DEFEAT YOU. AND IF HE WITHHOLDS AID FROM YOU, THEN WHO IS THERE BESIDES HIM TO HELP YOU?" (Aayat 160, Aal-e-Imraan) "IT IS HE (ALLAH) WHO PROTECTS YOU AGAINST THE PEO- PLE (YOUR ENEMIES)." (Aayat 67, Al-Maaidah) ALLAH TA'ALA has bestowed to you, O Taliban! Victory on the Battlefield. Allah Ta'ala has allowed you to humiliate and vanquish your enemies, the enemies of Islam, the so-called superpowers of the world. Despite there fearsome military arsenal and their coalition of 50 countries, the enemies have miserably failed to defeat the 'Rag-Tag' Army of Allah Ta'ala Who announces in the Qur'aan: "Hark! The Army of Allah will be victorious." Despite the Taliban's Imaani and Amali (practical) deficiencies, Allah Ta'ala has sustained them for these past 11 long years. Allah Ta'ala did not allow the American enemy to rout and destroy the Taliban. The considerable length of time – 11 years – to achieve the victory is due to the lack of the requisite degree of Taqwa. Success and victory are commensurate with the degree of Taqwa. The Qur'aan clarifying this fact, states: "Allah has promised those among you who have Imaan and practise virtuous deeds, that most assuredly He will establish them (grant them sovereignty) on earth just as He had established those before them….." (Aayat 55, An-Noor) A Mu'min, according to the Hadith, does not fall in the same hole twice. Once bitten twice shy. But, the naivety of the Taliban is indeed lamentable. During their first stint of sovereignty when they ruled Afghanistan, the U.S. had wooed them; sent a special plane to take them for negotiations to America. The U.S. had instructed all its Arab R ASULULLAH (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: * "Just as you are, so too will rulers be appointed over you." * Hadhrat Isaa (alayhis salaam) supplicated to Allah Ta'ala: "O my Rabb! What is the sign to indicate that you are pleased with Your creation?" Allah Ta'ala said: "I cause the rains to descend when it is time for sowing the seeds, and I withhold the rains when it is time to harvest the crop. I appoint benevolent men to rule over them. I assign their monetary affairs to generous persons." Nabi Isaa (alayhis salaam) said: "O my Rabb! What is the sign of your wrath on your creation?" Allah Ta'ala said: "I send the rains when they harvest the crops, and I withhold the rains when they sow the seeds. I appoint ignoramuses to rule them, and I assign their monetary affairs to their niggardly ones." * Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Allah Ta'ala says: 'I am Allah. There is no deity except Me. I am the King of kings. The hearts of kings are in My Hands when the people obey Me, I turn the hearts of the rulers with benevolence and mercy towards them. Verily, when the people disobey Me. I turn the hearts of the rulers with wrath and vengeance towards them. Then they (the rulers) inflict severe punishment on them. Therefore do not become involved with cursing the rulers. On the contrary engage yourself with thikr and humility so that I protect you against the tyranny of your rulers." * Hadhrat Ali (radhiyallahu anhu) said: "Verily, when Allah Ta'ala becomes wrathful on a nation whose destruction He has not ordained by means of earthquakes and disfigurement, then He causes prices to soar; He withholds rain, and He appoints the worst of people to be their rulers." * Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: 'Verily, Allah Azza Wa Jal says: 'I extract vengeance from those on whom is My Wrath with others on whom is My Wrath. Then ultimately I shall cast them all (both groups) into Jahannum" * "Don't revile the rulers. Supplicate to Allah for their rectitude, for verily, their rectitude is linked to your rectitude." (i.e. if you reform yourselves, the rulers will become reformed.) * "I take oath by Him in whose control is my life! Command righteous and prohibit evil. (If you do not) then the vilest among you will be appointed rulers over you. Your pious people will then supplicate, but their duas will not be accepted." Rulers are the reflections of the deeds of the masses. The rulers are mirrors in which the citizens can view their own deeds. A corrupt people will be saddled with tyrannical and corrupt rulers. Thus Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Your deeds are your rulers". Since the rulers are our reflections in the mirror, it is unintelligent to revile our own ugly reflection we see in the mirror. If a beautiful image is desired to be reflected in the mirror, it is necessary for the object in front of the mirror to be beautiful. A very ugly ignorant man who had never seen a mirror in his life once picked up a broken mirror. When he looked in it, he saw his own ugly face. In disgust he threw the mirror to the ground and exclaimed: "No wonder you have been thrown away!" This buffoon reviled the mirror for his own ugliness which was reflected in it. This is the condition of people who revile the rulers. They in fact revile themselves in the same way that the buffoon had thrown away the mirror and reviled it. In the Hadith Qudsi, we are instructed to reform ourselves and become obedient servants of Allah Ta'ala. He will then either reform and tenderize the hearts of the tyrannical rulers or replace them with kind, benevolent rulers. It is quite obvious from the many Ahaadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) as well as stemming from the Qur'aan-e-Hakeem that in general cruel and oppressive rulers are the consequences of the evils of the masses, and that the solution for the oppression and tyranny is not vilification of the tyrants. On the contrary, it is selfvilification, soul-searching, regret and repentance. Moral reformation and submission to the Shariah of Allah Azza Wa Jal will bring about a peaceful revolution which will see either the change of heart of the rulers or their replacement by benevolent rulers. It is also quiet clear that the basic theme of all the Ahaadith on this subject is self-reformation, for only such reformation is the enduring solution for the tyranny of oppressors. However, shaitaan has succeeded in casting the Ummah into the massive deception of believing that the problem is for example Hosni Mubarak, Gadhaafi, Asad and the host of other kuffaar and munaafiqs who are today at the helm of affairs in the lands of Islam. These tyrants are merely the reflections of the moral degradation, bid'ah, fisq, fujoor and kufr in which the Ummah is today wallowing in a drunken stupor. Removal and killing of the tyrants without moral reformation and submission to the Sunnah is simply the substitution of one system of tyranny for another system of tyranny. The scenario of substitution of tyrannies comes within the scope of the Hadith Qudsi (mentioned above) in which Allah Azza Wa Jal says that both groups – the oppressors and the oppressed who replace the former oppressors – are Mabghoodh Alayhim, i.e. the Wrath of Allah Ta'ala has settled on them. Both groups of scum will be swept into Jahannum. This is the situa- tion prevailing currently in the Arab lands in the aftermath of the so-called stupid 'Arab Spring'. Both groups are Mabgoodh Alayhim. The other form of punishment mentioned in the Ahaadith for a flagrantly transgressing and rebellious Ummah when their final destruction has not yet been ordained, but is divinely schemed to be gradual and incremental, is drought, scarcity of essential foodstuff, soaring prices, pestilence, infighting, etc. Then when the hour dawns for the ultimate decree of annihilation, no respite will be granted. "And, when We decide to destroy a place (town/city, i.e. its people), we command its affluent ones (that is, we grant them leeway to transgress recklessly). Then they indulge in transgression. Thus the decree (of punishment) is ordained for them. Then We utterly destroy them." "And, when their appointed time (of annihilation) arrives, it will not be delayed a moment nor advanced." (Qur'aan) As long as Muslims fail to understand that every particle moves by the direct intervention and command of Allah Azza Wa Jal and that the oppression which rulers inflict on the populace is the decree of Allah Ta'ala, and the solution for such tyranny is Inaabat ilallaah (Turning to Allah with Repentance), they will remain sinking in an abyss of moral degradation and humiliation to remain the slaves of the western kuffaar. "And not a leaf falls (from a tree) but He is aware of it…." THE LATEST BRUTALITY IN A SERIES OF HORRENDOUS ATROCITIES PERPETRATED BY THE MUSHRIK BUDDHIST IDOLATERS IN THEIR GENOCIDE ETHNIC CLEANSING CAMPAIGNS UNLEASHED AGAINST THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY, THE HIFZUL QUR'AAN INSTITUTION, MADRASAH SIDDIQIYYAH WAS TORCHED AND 17 HUFFAAZ WERE MARTYRED. MAY ALLAH TA'ALA BESTOW THE LOFTIEST RANKS OF SHAHAADAT TO THESE SHUHADA. THE HELPLESS AND HOPELESS UMMAH IS REQUESTED TO REMEMBER IN THEIR DUA THE OPPRESSED MUSLIMS OF BURMA WHO ARE BEING BRUTALIZED, Burma has been transformed into a killing field for Muslims. Over a dozen Musjids have so far been gutted by fire in the recent rounds of terror against Muslims. Now it is not only the Rohingya Muslim community which has hitherto been the prime target for the mushrikeen Buddhist satanic monks and the Buddhist masses in general. Other Muslim communities are now also being targeted for destruction. Burmese security forces have joined in the pillage and plunder and have committed numerous acts of rape and have allowed the Burmese savages a free hand to execute their acts of genocide. A number of Ulama have been killed in the presence of the evil security forces. According to a BBC reporter, he observed 20 Muslim bodies which the Buddhist Devils were trying to burn and destroy. In view of the clamp on information by the Burmese authorities, the full picture of the horror remains unknown. However, the little information emerging portrays the absolute horror to which Muslims are being subjected to by the idolater priests and masses of the Satanist cult of Buddhism. az zulm." That is: "An empire perpetuates even with kufr, A famous adage of Islam says: "AlMulk yabqa ma-al kufr, laa yabqa ma- but not with zulm (oppression." Allah Ta'ala, in His Wisdom, has created the earth as a temporary abode for both Mu'min and kaafir. Whilst the commission of kufr will destroy an Islamic empire, it will not have the same consequence for the empire of the kuffaar. Whereas kufr and fisq are death knells for Muslims and will bring about the downfall and eventual destruction of Muslim political power, it is zulm (oppression/injustice) and immorality which bring about the collapse and ultimate demise of the empire and power of the kuffaar. Since the world is life's goal for the kuffaar, they are not punished here on earth for their kufr. The everlasting perdition in Jahannum will be the chastisement for their kufr. If Muslims too embark on zulm, it will swiftly bring about the demise of their political power. And, this is precisely what has happened to the Islamic Empire which had endured for many centuries. The U.S. had gained its superpower status on the foundations of morality and justice which are its constitutional precepts. The founders of the U.S.A. had enshrined belief in the Almighty as a cardinal imperative. In Kentucky, the law states: "The safety and security of the Commonwealth cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon Al- mighty God as set forth in the public speeches and proclamations of American Presidents, including Abraham Lincoln's historic March 30, 1863 presidential proclamation urging Americans to pray and fast during the most dangerous hours in American history, and the text of President John F. Kennedy's November 22, 1963 national security speech which concluded: 'For as was written long ago: 'Except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain." According to the law, plaques praising the power of Almighty God are to be installed outside the state Homeland Security building. Failing to comply carries a 12 month jail sentence. The plaques inscription reads: "The safety and security of the Commonwealth cannot be achieved apart from reliance upon Almighty God." The atheist organization of America has now applied to the U.S. Supreme Court to review the law. However, the power of the U.S. is fading, having been undermined by its oppression and the increasing immorality and obscenity wracking its society. Both elements (justice and morality) on which American power was structured have been severely eroded and are in the process of vanishing. Along with the corruption the demise of the American empire is being enacted. For the U.S., the writing on the wall is conspicuous. Q. In my opinion, Muslims are today humiliated because they had broken away from the Khilaafat of the Ottomans. Please comment A. Your thinking is not correct. Muslims all over the world are in a disgraceful state of suffering, not because they broke away from the Khilaafat. Muslims did not break away from the Khilaafat. On the contrary, Allah Ta'ala abolished the Khilaafat and placed Muslims under kuffaar domination because the greater part of the Ummah had become treacherous and immoral, and this immorality and treachery of the global Ummah have incrementally degenerated since the abolition of the Khilaafat. The last of Ottoman rulers too were wallowing in fisq and fujoor (flagrant sin and immorality). Thus, today we find kuffaar rulers/governments in control of all Muslim countries. All of these rulers whilst bearing Muslim names are kuffaar and munaafiq at heart. This has been the biggest and most successive coup for the West. It is their greatest victory over Muslims. Whilst they have ostensibly relinquished physical control of the Muslim lands by granting them a farcical independence, their throttling grip on the lands and peoples of Islam has solidified and has become stronger. All these lands are under Western domination and ruled by their puppet agents. The sole exception currently is the extremely weak pseudo-Islamic, plastic government of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt which is like a dog without teeth unable to even bark loudly. Whilst Morsi' government is not kaafir, it is a mere shadow. It is impotent since it has to operate under the dark cloud of a thoroughly kaafir, hosni-mubaarak army which is among Islam's greatest enemies in the Middle Eastern region. Muslims have abandoned the Deen and they are following and emulating the kuffaar. Muslims have appointed the kuffaar as their leaders, hence Allah Ta'ala has appointed them as our rulers. Muslims themselves are inimical to Islam. They abhor Shariah law and rule. As long as Muslims will follow and worship the kuffaar, they will remain disgraced and suffering. 'And no, one knows the armies of your Rabb besides Him." (Qur'aan) "Then We dispatched against them (Fir'oun and his legions) storms, lo- custs, lice, frogs and blood as clear detailed signs (of Allah's Punish- ment)." (Qur'aan) The forces of Allah Ta'ala are known only to Him. In His Own way, Allah Azza Wa Jal afflicts His enemies and also transgressing Muslims with unexpected punishments emanating from unexpected sources. Initially, Allah Ta'ala does not obliterate a grossly rebellious and evil people. He too wages a guerilla-style warfare against the oppressors, the purpose being either a warning or to inflict long term suffering on an evil people. In the Qur'aan Majeed, Allah Ta'ala says: "Do those who indulge in evil conspiracies have confidence that Allah will not cause them to be swallowed by the earth or overtake them with a punishment from unexpected quarters? Or that He will seize them (while they are engrossed) in their (day to day) activities. Then they will be unable to escape. Or that He will seize them by degrees (of punishment which will gradually eliminate them)?" (Surah An-Nahl, Aayaat 45, 46, 47) This type of Divine Guerilla War is being unleashed against the U.S.A. and Israel. The U.S.A. in recent years has been plagued with storms, hurricanes, floods, fires and economic disaster. Currently, Israel is reeling under attacks by massive swarms of locusts which are ravaging the land. Millions or billions of locusts have invaded and are invading Israel from Egypt. Whilst the armies of Egypt and the Arab lands are impotent against Israel, Allah Ta'ala has dispatched billions of locusts to wrought havoc in Israel. The swarms of locusts are invading wave upon wave despite the Israeli government having taken all measures to combat this unexpected, inconventional Army of Allah Azza Wa Jal. This is indeed an aerial invasion of a different kind. Israel has been battling the swarms of locusts for the past several weeks. But the locusts keep coming, swarm upon swarm, consisting of millions of the insects which devour every blade of greenery they settle on. Massive damage to crops and greenhouses has been caused by the locusts. $30 million of crops have already been destroyed. Two years ago hundreds of millions of jellyfish invaded. A major Israeli power plant was severely damaged and almost shut down. Fishermen and swimmers were attacked by the jellyfish and several power stations were damaged. In 2010 a huge forest fire killed 44 people. Most of those killed were zaalim Israeli prison officers and police officers. Almost 20,000 people were evacuated. The Qur'aan Majeed states: "And, you will not find in the Sunnah (Way) of Allah a change." This is the manner in which Allah Azza Wa Jal deals with oppressors and transgressors. He first gives them a taste of a lesser punishment, which if not heeded will be followed by the Eliminator which will utterly obliterate the oppressors. The Divine Guerilla war progressively weakens the oppressors by the infliction of a series of punishments. This form of gradually incremental Athaab is within the wise scheme of Allah Ta'ala. No empire has endured forever. All these zaalimeen such as the U.S.A. and Israel are doomed for annihilation. The Qur'aan states: "And, when their appointed moment arrives, it shall not be delayed one moment nor brought forward." TALIBAN INFILTRATION "Thanks to the infiltration of the Muja- hideen. They are able to safely enter bases, offices, and intelligence centres of the enemy." (Mullah Omar) About the torrent of calamities – oppression of the kuffaar, suffering, humiliation and misery – descending on the Ummah all over the world, and the impunity with which the kuffaar are proceeding with their work of genocide, there is nothing to wonder. There is no need to wonder. There is a dire need to ponder. Muslims are required to ponder and reflect on their moral and spiritual conditions, for this has a direct bearing on the humiliating disasters which are settling on the Ummah. It is essential to understand that everything is under Allah's control, and everything is commanded by Him. Nothing in the universe occurs beyond the confines of the Divine Decree. The Qur'aan Majeed states: "And, by Him are the Keys of the Ghaib (the Unseen Realm). No one besides Him knows it. He is aware of whatever is in the earth and in the ocean. And, not a leaf drops (from a tree), but He is aware of it. There is not a seed in the darkness of the earth (underground,) nor anything moist or dry, but it is recorded in a clear book." (Al-An'aam, aayat 59) Not an atom moves, but with His direct intervention. Every iota in creation is under the command and direction of Allah Azza Wa Jal. There are no accidents in Allah's creation. Everything down to the minutest detail follows a decreed pattern. The heart-rending atrocities which the Muslims of Burma are currently suffering are also by the design and command of Allah Ta'ala. The zaalim idolaters who are enacting the brutality are in reality part of Allah's Army. It is Allah Azza Wa Jal Who sends His armies against those whom He desires to punish. The 'zulm' to which Muslims are being subjected is the consequence of the real Zulm which Muslims are inflicting on themselves and on the Deen of Allah Azza Wa Jal with their flagrant transgression and rebellion. There shall therefore be no ending for the hardships descending on Muslims as long as they fail to understand the cause of these calamities, and remedy the ills in the way Islam has ordered. And the only remedy is Istighfaar and Inaabat ilallaah, i.e. to repent and to turn to Allah Ta'ala in obedience in the manner in which Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) had commanded. JIHAD IN THE CAUCAS REGION For more than a decade, fighting in the North Caucasus has been sustained by the Mujahideen against Russia. Mujahideen carry out attacks almost daily in the Republics of Kabardino, Balkaria, Chechnya and Dagestan. Due to an almost total blackout on news, information on the progress of the Jihad is scant. Q. Is Hamas an Islamic organization? Are the Hamas fighters who are killed shaheed? A. Hamas, whilst a Muslim organization, is not an Islamic movement. It does not have as its objective the establishment of an Islamic state. Its goal is a western-type 'democratic' system. Allah Ta'ala Alone knows whether those fighting under the banner of Hamas are shaheed or not. Generally, the ordinary fighters have sincere intentions. Insha'Allah, they will be martyrs depending on their niyyat. Q. Some people are condemning Saddam Husain. They even say that he was not a Muslim. Please comment A. Saddam Husain is dead. He died many years ago, most probably as a Shaheed. What benefit is there in backbiting a dead man? Nothing but sin! Regardless of his sins and injustices, he died as a Muslim, looking the masked kaafir executioner in the eyes, and proclaiming verbally the Kalimah Shahaadat. His last words were La ilaahah il lallaah. Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "He who says 'La ilaahah' will enter Jannat." Throughout his incarceration, he was daily reciting the Qur'aan Shareef. The fact that he proclaimed the Kalimah with the noose around his neck, makes it haraam to speak ill of him. At least there is reasonable certitude that he departed from this world with Imaan. But what assurance do those who speak ill of him have that they will leave this earth with Imaan intact? Q. A Salafi asked me, why do you oppose and condemn Jihad? A. Ask the Salafi to provide our fatwa which he alleges is in condemnation or against Jihad. When it is our belief that it is kufr to refute Jihad, how could we have issued such a baatil fatwa. Have they read our publication, Al-Haq? Salafis are bigoted and cherish a hatred for all non-Salafis, hence they read our articles with preconceived notions. What we have said and say is that without Islaah of the Nafs – without Tarbiyat – there will not be victory in the Jihad. That is exactly what is happening to all Jihad activity conducted by Salafis. In all the decades of their Jihad, they have not managed to conquer and hold a single territory to establish a headquarters for Islam. When we say that there is no victory without Islaah (moral reformation) of the Nafs, it does not mean that Jihad is not permissible. It is the same as we are telling Muslims that the way they perform Salaat is absolutely putrid, and they are therefore deprived of the benefits of the Salaat they are performing. It will be wrong and slanderous now to say that we are claiming that performing Salaat is not permissible. Q. On what basis are you saying that Salafis are like Shias? A. We have compared Salafis with Shiahs in only one aspect, and that is in their dishonesty. They conceal their true beliefs in order to mislead the Muqallideen of the Math-habs. On this issue we have published a book in two parts, The Scourge of Salafi'ism. It is also available on the internet. For ex- ample, you will not hear from Salafis that they blindly follow Ibn Taimiyyah whilst they refute the superior Taqleed of the Four Imaams. They will not tell anyone that their Imaam Ibn Taymiyyah believed that the universe is co-eternal with Allah Ta'ala – that Allah Ta'ala did not create the universe and the Arsh – that these objects existed co-eternally with Allah Ta'ala – Nauthubillaah! Our criticism of Salafis is not criticism of Jihad. It is criticism of their baseless beliefs and attitudes. Q. Salafis allege that you condemn global Jihad. And the Mujahideen. Please comment A. Where and when did we discourage or condemn global Jihad? Let them cite the evidence for this baseless claim. Let them present our statements in which we have criticized the Mujaahideen, and what acts of the Mujaahideen did we criticize. If you read our articles, you will find that we vigorously criticize even our own Ulama of Deoband of the present era. We criticize our own people also for their haraam and evils. This does not mean that we are in refutation of our senior Ulama of Deoband. Brother, we have a duty to proclaim the Haqq. If baatil emanates from our own side, we shall, InshaAllah, criticize it as well. Salafis should not expect to be spared criticism for their baatil simply because they participate in Jihad. Q. Salafis claim that the Taliban are no longer associated with the Ulama of Deoband. Is this true? A. The claim that the Taliban are no longer associated with the Ulama of Deoband is a monstrous lie. In fact it is a despicable slander against the Taliban. The Taliban are the staunchest Hanafis in the world. So staunch are they, that despite the Arab Mujaahideen fighting alongside them, they (Taliban) do not allow anyone to propagate any Math-hab which is in conflict with the Hanafi Math-hab. Not, only are the Taliban staunch followers of Deoband, they even actively participate in Tabligh jamaat activities. Q. Is there a new Jihad front in Baluchistan, Pakistan? A. We are not aware of the new Jihad front in Baluchistan. But if the Salafis have initiated a front there, be assured that they are doomed for failure. The actual rebels fighting the kufr Pakistani regime are themselves communist, and if not communist, are like communists. The degree of jahaalah in Baluchistan is unbelievable. They bury even without ghusl and janaazah Salaat in many places. Wherever Salafis have waged Jihad, they have failed to establish Shariah law for any length of time. And, when they temporarily establish Shariah law, it is restricted to stoning fornicators, whipping the ignoramuses, and cutting off hands without due Shar'i procedure. They lack understanding of the meaning of a Shariah state. Algeria, Egypt, Bosnia, Iraq, Chechnya, Somalia and now Mali are legacies of their failures. Q. According to Sheikh Abdullah Azzam who was the Ustadh of Usama Bin Ladin, Jihaad is Fardh-e-Ain. Please comment on this view A. Jihaad is an integral Institution of Islam. Denial of Jihad as the modernists do, is kufr. Those whose brains have been colonized by the U.S.A. and the West in general, deny Jihaad to appease their colonial masters who have securely embedded their brains in their colons. However, in the present age and circumstances, Jihad is not Fardh-e-Ain. Fardh-e-Ain means Fardh on every member of the Ummah – male and female, in the same way as the daily Salaat is Fardh-e-Ain. The claim that Jihaad is Fardh-Ain, i.e. compulsory on every member of the 3 billion strong Ummah is ludicrous. This preposterous averment portrays the superficiality of the knowledge of the claimant. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam was a Salafi. According to Salafis, their Jihaad activity is fardh-e-ain. This view is palpably baseless. Q. If Muslim soldiers are killed nowadays, do they become shaheed? Should they be buried with their uniforms? A. Governments of Muslim countries in this age are generally kaafir. All governments in Muslim countries have rejected the Shariah and govern according to kuffaar law. The security forces too are bolstering kuffaar regimes. In this scenario a soldier or police killed in battle will not be a Shaheed and should not be buried with his uniform. It is not permissible to voluntarily join the army in Muslim counties which are all under the yoke of zulm – injustice and oppression. The primary function of the armies in Muslim countries nowadays is repression and brutality against the Muslim population. They do not exist for Jihad. The cowards only know how to brutally mow down Muslim civilians. THE AFTERMATH – NO ESCAPE FOR AMERICA * More than 1.5 million U.S. troops are suffering severe post-war effects. They have received medical treatment at hospitals specially set up for war veterans, and have to be granted benefits for the rest of their lives. Over a quarter million troops are the victims of traumatic brain injury * The U.S.A. has so far paid 260 billion dollars in only interest on loans acquired for the wars. However, it is reported by western experts that the potential interest amount runs into trillions of dollars. * Most of the war costs are incurred after the retreat, defeat and conclusion of the wars. * The costs of the Iraqi-Afghan aggressions to the American taxpayers is approximately 6 trillion dollars. The abject, humiliating defeats suffered by the U.S.A. in its wars of aggression on Iraq and Afghanistan are vividly portrayed in the mental derangement of more than a quarter million of its troops who are suffering from various degrees of insanity which has compelled numerous U.S. soldiers to commit suicide. Insanity is a form of Divine Punishment for oppressors. The U.S. economy will be perpetually burdened with madmen who have to be maintained lifelong. Whilst insanity caused by fear is a common disease among the kuffaar forces, not a single case of mental derangement has been reported in the ranks of the Mujaahideen. The forces of the kuffaar have no higher spiritual motive to focus on. They are brutal murderers who pillage and plunder the weak, and even women and children. Their insanity is the consequence of their brutality. On the other hand, the Mujaahideen have spiritual and altruistic motives which make them formidable opponents. Death is sweet to them. Therefore, they do not suffer the brain damage which is endemic in U.S. forces. THE COST OF FLEEING The U.S. has estimated that it will cost about $6 billion to flee from Afghanistan. Withdrawal poses a massive quagmire. In addition to having to destroy billions of rands of war equipment in Afghanistan, the U.S. will have to pay billions more to get its men and whatever equipment it desires out of Afghanistan. In addition to the huge cost, is the danger of Mujaahideen attacks on the convoys of the fleeing Americans with their equipment. Just recently – a few days ago – the Mujaahideen waylaid a convoy of trucks laden with war goods heading for Karachi to be shipped back to the U.S. The convoy attacked by Mujaahideen was destroyed along with all the war material. The withdrawal from Afghanistan is a major headache for the U.S. DOZENS KILLED IN COURT ATTACK In a daring attack on a court in Farah city, nine Taliban Mujahideen killed dozens of court officials, judges and lawyers. The Mujahideen moved from office to office systematically eliminating all those associated with the surrogate U.S. puppet government. The Mujahideen donning Afghan army uniforms launched an eight hour assault on the court. With an Afghan army vehicle commandeered by the Mujahideen and laden with explosives, they drove into the entrance of the court. There was a huge blast. The three Mujahiddeen in the vehicle were martyred while another six quickly launched the attack. In addition to the dozens killed about a 100 were wounded. An estimated 200,000 U.S. and coalition troops have become afflicted with brain injury and dementia (insanity) in the past decade. This is among the punishments divinely inflicted on the oppressors for their acts of cruelty and brutality in Iraq and Afghanistan. By ROD NORDLAND and AZAM AHMED (The New York Times) Published: April 12, 2013 KABUL, Afghanistan — Taliban insur- gents dealt a serious blow to one of the Afghan Army's most highly regarded units on Friday, killing 13 soldiers and overrunning their remote outpost in eastern Afghanistan. According to Afghan security officials, speaking on the condition of anonymity because of the nature of the Taliban victory, the 13 soldiers constituted the entire complement at the checkpost. One police official said that a force of 200 Taliban fighters had opened fire with heavy weapons and finally set the post on fire; most of the deaths were from the flames. It was one of the bloody insurgent attacks in the current spring offensive that have helped drive the rate of government fatalities to the highest level of the war. Afghan soldiers and police officers are dying at more than double the rate of a year ago, according to military officials. The numbers both underscore how much more of the fighting has been handed over to Afghan forces and raise questions about how ready those forces are for the increased responsibility, even as the insurgents ratchet up their much-anticipated spring onslaught. There have been a number of highprofile insurgent attacks on the ground this year, not just the remote-control and suicide bombings the Taliban favored in the past. The shift suggests that they are testing how well Afghan forces can operate on their own at a critical juncture in the planned withdrawal of the American military. "We know the enemy's going to come out hard this summer, so the numbers are going to go up," said Col. Thomas Collins, a spokesman for the International Security Assistance Force. Friday's attack was on the Third Battalion of the Second Brigade, one of only a handful of Afghan Army battalions rated by the United States military as independent and able to operate on its own without foreign advisers. It was one of two such battalions that had been deployed without advisers recently in Kunar Province, according to a military official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the subject. The Third Battalion was assigned to hold the Narai district, a rugged, mountainous area near the Pakistani border, on a route used by insurgents. A spokesman for the Taliban, Zabiullah Mujahid, took credit for the attack and claimed that 15 soldiers had been killed and that the insurgents had captured all of their weapons and ammunition. It was a measure of the delicacy of the episode that officials publicly played down the death count, with a spokesman for the 201st Corps confirming only that an attack had taken place and the Kunar Province police chief, Gen. Habib Saidkhelli, claiming that only two soldiers had been killed. The Narai district police chief, Mohammad Yousuf, confirmed that 13 soldiers had been killed. The Third Battalion has been widely praised as among the best of the Afghan Army's formations. The soldiers at the checkpost were taken by surprise because the Afghan and American militaries were concentrating on a joint operation elsewhere in Kunar, said a military official in the area. While it is still early in the spring fighting season to generalize, the insurgents have attacked several times recently using foot soldiers or made what the military calls "complex attacks," involving bombings as well as fire fights. Last year, the insurgents relied largely on suicide bombers and roadside bombings and avoided engaging directly with Afghan or international military forces. In March, ground attacks by the insurgents killed four police officers and four Afghan soldiers in the Dangaam district of Kunar Province. Officials there said Friday's attack was the deadliest in at least six months. In northern Badakhshan Province, an area with little previous insurgent activity, Taliban forces ambushed a convoy and killed 17 Afghan soldiers sent to reinforce police posts on March 7. Most were killed after being captured, according to Afghan officials. Then on March 25, 10 more Afghan soldiers were captured in the same area; they are still being held. On April 3, one of the deadliest insurgent attacks of the war was set off in western Farah Province by nine Taliban fighters dressed as Afghan soldiers. They stormed a government compound, killing 10 soldiers and 34 civilians, and wounding more than 100 people. The Afghan National Army has to replace and train nearly a third of its force every year because of desertions and attrition. The death toll among Afghan forces has been steadily climbing in recent years as their numbers have grown and they have taken over more of the fighting. The army lost more than 1,000 soldiers in 2012, and the police lost 1,800 officers, according to Afghan government estimates. The army has 146,000 soldiers, with police and other units bringing total security forces to 352,000 last year. Late last year, Gen. Mohammad Zahir Azimi, the spokesman for the Afghan military, said at a news conference at NATO headquarters that 110 soldiers and 200 policemen were dying each month. OUR COMMENT Talibaan Jihaad activity is substantially more and so are the enemy casualties than what the western media admit. IRAQ IS AMERICA'S biggest boon for bolstering its economy. Billions of dollars of Iraqi oil revenue is siphoned off to America. It is therefore incumbent for the US to sustain the anarchy and mutual killing in Iraq. The internecine warfare in Iraq enables the Western countries in general, and the US in particular to calmly pirate the oil if the land. In an article, Sorcha Faal states: "Important to note, this report reminds us, is that a similar move by Iraq's former leader Saddam Hussein in not accepting US dollars for oil in 2000 brought about the invasion of his country by the Americans and their European allies resulting in his eventual execution and the causing of the vast wealth of Iraqi oil and gas fields to be turned to the Western oil giants. ….Most oil sales throughout the world are dominated in US dollars…………" After having invaded Mali, France finds itself increasingly being sucked into the vortex of a violent guerilla war. Conceding that all is not well with the invasion, the Defence Minister of France said that French troops are involved in very violent fighting in the Adrar des Ifoghas mountains of north eastern Mali. The violence is increasing by the day. Many French troops have perished in attacks by the Mujahideen. It is clear that France is now increasingly being bogged down in a war that it can never win. These kuffaar never learn from their egregious blunders. Despite their military might and the reign of terror and brutality which they had unleashed in Iraq and Afghanistan, they have been defeated. But they have not yet learnt a lesson. France has yet another lesson to learn in Mali. As a result of the numerous 'green-in-blue' attacks (Afghan soldiers killing U.S. military personnel), trust between American forces and Afghan soldiers and police has completely eroded. The very Afghan soldiers the Americans are training, are turning their guns on them. These attacks have constrained the US to institute a program called 'guardian angel' whereby US military units are selected to watch their fellow soldiers as they eat, sleep, go for defecation, or patrol with Afghan soldiers whom they have trained. So far about 100 American soldiers were killed by 'green-in-blue' attacks. BANGLADESH GOVERNMENT CONDONES INSULTING RASULULLAH (SALLALLAHU ALAYHI WASALLAM) Although Bangladesh is a predominantly Muslim country with 95% of the population being Muslim, the government is kaafir and pro-Hindu. The current prime minister, Hasina is not a Muslim. Her views on Islam and her openly displayed anti-Islam laws confirm her kufr status. Hundreds of thousands of Muslims have been recently protesting in the streets of Bangladesh demanding the death penalty for those who insult and revile Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). The trend of vile, filthy murtad bloggers insulting our Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is on the increase in Bangladesh. A few days ago hundreds of thousands of Muslims rallied in Dhaka, the capital to demand that the government enacts the death penalty for those who insult Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). A few weeks ago scores of Muslim protestors were mercilessly mowed down and killed by the evil security forces bolstering the Hindu government. As a consequence of the massive protests across the country, the government has been forced to make some appeasing gestures. The Home Minister FRANCE ANNOUNCES WITHDRAWAL It appears that France has acted wisely with its decision to withdraw its forces from Mali. France has announced that it will be withdrawing the entire contingent of 3000 troops which had invaded Mali. Having realized that instead of victory, its troops will be bogged down in a quagmire of attrition in the same way as the U.S. finds itself today trapped in Afghanistan, France took the wise decision to withdraw all 3000 troops. The war of attrition against the Mujahideen cannot be won. It is this realization which has induced France to announce its withdrawal so soon after the invasion. The French troops are replaced by another aggressor, the United Nations with its farcical 'peace-keeping' force. The fate of this 'peace-keeping' force will ultimately be the same – defeat and withdrawal with tails between legs. announced that the government has identified 11 bloggers who had violated the religious feelings of the Muslim population. The government has also now blocked about a dozen blogs in an attempt to stem the protests. Furthermore, the government has set up a panel to monitor acts of blasphemy on social media. Whilst according to the current law a blogger or internet writer who defames a religion can be sentenced up to ten years, this has had no effect, and hitherto no one was sentenced for blaspheming Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Furthermore, Bangladesh being a Muslim country is in need of the death penalty for blasphemers. "What! Do you think that you will enter Jannat whilst there has not come to you such (hardships) which had befallen those before you? Wars and hardship befell them, and they were shaken (to such a degree that even) the Rasool and those with him said: 'When will come the Help of Allah?' Most certainly, the help of Allah is near." (Aayat 214, Baqarah) A LLAH TA'ALA has subjected bygone Muslims with such severe and prolonged trials and hardships that even the Rasool and the Muttaqqeen with him were severely shaken and they cried: "When will come Allah's help?" Allah Ta'ala informs us in this aayat that His Help will come after severe trials. Seeing the suffering and distress of the Muslims, the hypocrites in Madinah said that the promise of Allah and His Rasool was false and deception. The Buddhist mushrikeen in like manner were taunting the Muslims: 'Where is your Allah?' Allah is close by. But the Sunnah of Allah Azza Wa Jal has always been the imposition of hardship and severe trials as a prelude to victory. For His pious servants, including the Ambiya, these hardships were by way of trial. For the transgressors it was Athaab (Punishment). If they heed the punishment and reform, Allah's aid will be close by and victory will be achieved. If they remain deaf, dumb and blind like beasts, failing to understand the Divine Message in the calamities, the consequence will be annihilation at the hands of the filthy mush- rikeen. In response to the cry: "When will come Allah's help?", Allah Ta'ala, Himself says: "Most certainly, the Help of Allah is near." But, due to the deflection from the Sunnah, the Ummah is unable to understand this Divine Response. They hear it when it is recited, and they see it when they recite it, but they have become like dumb animals unable to comprehend what they hear. The Divine Response has become a meaningless sound for Muslims, and this beastly attitude which is a peculiarity which Muslims have acquired from the kuffaar masters, is depicted in the Qur'aanic aayat: "The similitude of the kuffaar is like a person who calls something (or someone) who does not hear (i.e. does not understand) anything but a call and a sound. (They are) deaf, dumb and blind. Thus they are bereft of intelligence." Thus, the Call of Allah Ta'ala to the Ummah to turn unto Him for succour by severing ties from the kuffaar and submitting fully and wholeheartedly to the Shariah, and adopting the 14 Century old lifestyle of the Sahaabah, the Conquerors of the world, falls on deaf ears. Or we hear merely the sounds of someone calling without understanding what the Call is all about. This is the effect of having corrupted the intelligence by the Ummah's insane emulation of the kuffaar. Even the Ulama or the so-called Ulama of this era have become like dumb beasts, wholly lacking the ability to understand the problem, to diagnose and prescribe the correct remedy for extricating the Ummah from the morass of abject humiliation and defeat. The ulama-e-soo' are the primary cause for the current state of the Ummah's degradation. Instead of guiding the Ummah by discharging their obligation of Amr Bil Ma'roof Nahy Anil Munkar (Commanding virtue and prohibiting vice), they have joined the masses in the mad pursuit of mundane and nafsaani goals. To bamboozle the moronic Muslim masses sinking in the quagmire of moral degradation and humiliation, being kicked and buffeted from pillar to post, the ulama-e-soo' lost in a cesspool of inequity can only flabbily squirm that Muslims should observe Dua-eQunoot. They call on the suffering rubbished Ummah to engage in a Mustahab act whilst they display a deafening silence regarding the haraam, bid'ah, fisq, fujoor and even downright kufr in which Muslims are grovelling. Hankering after the dunya, these ulama -e-soo' have become worse than even the ulama-e-soo' of Bani Israaeel whom the Qur'aan castigates: "You will see numerous of them making haste in (the commission of) sin and transgression, and in devouring haraam (carrion, etc.). Why do their scholars (ulama) and saints (mashaaikh) not prohibit them (the masses) from their sinful statements and their consumption of haraam (carrion). Indeed, vile is that which they (the ulamae-soo') perpetrate." (Aayats 62 / 63, Al-Maaidah) "O People of Imaan! Verily, numer- ous of the scholars and saints are devouring the wealth of people in baatil (haraam) ways, and they (the ulama-esoo') prevent (the Ummah) from the Path of Allah (with their villainy)." (Aayat 34, At-Taubah) Instead of guiding the Ummah towards the Aakhirah, the Goal for which Allah Ta'ala has dispatched us into this ephemeral earthly abode, these miscreant molvis and sheikhs, pillage the Deen with their haraam interpretations, and plunder the Imaan and Akhlaaq of the Ummah by opening the avenue of fisq and fujoor. They have welded shut the door of Taqwa to this unfortunate Ummah sliding down into an abyss of disgrace and misery. The demand of this delicate hour in the history of the Ummah, is for the Ulama to firstly reform themselves, then devote their lives for the reformation of the Ummah. But whilst the Ummah is aflame, burning to its destruction, the ulama-e-soo' engage in soccer tournaments, television programmes, kuffaar sports, halaalizing carrion, halaalizing riba, legalizing the haraam riba products of the haraam riba capitalist banks, concerts of nazams, extravagant jalsahs, merrymaking functions, satanic weddings, etc., etc., and all of this in the name of the Deen. They have just about legalized every haraam act and institution with their baatil ta'weelaat (baseless interpretations). Whilst the community indulges flagrantly in haraam, fisq and fujoor, Duae-Qunoot will have no effect. MUJAHIDEEN TORCH NATO WITHDRAWAL TRUCKS GUNMEN in Pakistan yesterday set ablaze five trucks carrying Nato equipment out of Afghanistan as the international military alliance winds down its combat mission there, officials said. Four masked gunmen on two motorbikes opened fire on the vehicles, forcing them to stop and then doused them in petrol to set them on fire in Baluchistan. Military officials said on Sunday it would cost the US $5-billion to $6-billion to remove military hardware and vehicles from Afghanistan, where Nato is ending its combat mission by the end of next year. - Sapa-AFP (The Times) The attacks mounted by the Mujaahideen in Afghanistan are too numerous to mention. The western press is silent in this regard. Hundreds of U.S. and Nato bases throughout Afghanistan have either been overrun by the Mujahideen or abandoned by the retreating U.S. and Nato aggressors. The is no safety for the U.S. and coalition troops in Afghanistan. The hundreds of thousands of their troops suffering various degrees of insanity and brain damage are therefore quite understandable. On April 3, the Mujaahideen in Afghanistan carried out am attack inside the city of Farah, killing 80 U.S. Afghan mercenaries and wounding 75. A Mujahid driving a pick-up truck of the Afghan surrogate army detonated 700 kg of heavy explosives at a government building, clearing the way for a group of 7 Mujaahideen to enter the building. In an operation which lasted about 30 minutes all the government officials in the building were killed. The Afghan army made several attempts to enter but were repelled with losses. Several of the troops were killed in the ensuing gunbattle. All seven Mujaahideen were martyred in the operation. The following are extracts from a statement issued by Mullah Omar, the Ameer of the Taliban: "Remember! We did not attack anyone. We did not grab anyone's land. We are fully maintaining the momentum of Jihad against these usurpers and aggressors. Eleven years ago we said to the enemy: 'Your coming here is easy. But, you will be overwhelmed by massive difficulties in your remaining here or withdrawing from here. Today this is precisely what the enemy is experiencing. To sustain the Jihad we have the necessary means. We are not the victims of mental derangement (as are the enemy forces). We have reposed our full trust on our Creator. To sustain this Jihad we have adequate manpower. We have not borrowed any of these means from anyone. We are not indebted to anyone for favours. The reality is that all of this is Allah's grace. It is only with Allah's permission that we shall neutralize all the plots of the enemy. Our Jihaadi Caravan has reached such a stage that we shall Insha-Allah, inflict the most shattering rebuffs on the enemy in the battlefield – rebuffs which will be unbearable for them." Major Benjamin Tupper, a U.S. soldier has this to say about the Afghanistan escapade: "I compare it to a marriage. Marriages start great. The first years are a honeymoon; the middle years get a little grinding. Sometime in the later years things fall apart." Yes, for the U.S. and its marauders things have badly fallen apart. It is now time to run. The running has already begun. The cost to run from Afghani- stan is conservatively estimated at $6 billion, plus tons of headaches and fear as the Mujahideen attack withdrawing and fleeing convoys of aggressors with their tails between their legs. Major Tupper further said: "My guess is a lot of people in Afghanistan, 10 years ago, loved the fact the West was there. A decade later they are just tired of it. They are tired of our fumbles and bumbles and mistakes. They are tired of the enemy that seems to have no shortage of bold attacks." Currently there is a total lack of 'bold attacks'. The attacking is done by the Taliban, and they attack the aggressors in the cities, in their green zones, barracks and fortifications. Those who had loved or welcomed the U.S. and Nato invasion are kuffaar Afghans, communists and crass modernists who have an aversion for Islam. But the vast majority of Afghans abhor the Americans and their European collaborators. There never were any 'bold attacks' by the Americans and Nato in Afghani- stan. All attacks were brutal acts of murder. Villages and hamlets were pummeled into extinction from the sky by cruel aggressors. Tens of thousands of tons of chemical bombs were rained on ordinary village folk, farmers and wedding parties. The Taliban have no respect for the American soldier whom they paint as cowards. According to the Taliban, at least the Russians stood and fought, but not the Americans. They are capable of only preying on women and children, and destroying villages from the sky and from a long distance with heavy weaponry. The Taliban, in an article published in the Rabiul Awwal issue of their monthly bulletin, Shariat, presented the following report on the successes of the Mujahideen for the year 2012: "The year 2012 proved extraordinary successful for the Jihad and the Jihadi exploits of the Mujahideen. We can claim with the fullest confidence that the year 2012 for the U.S. and Nato invading aggressors equates to the year 1984 for the Russians in which all hopes of the Soviet aggressors were dashed and annihilated. They had to accept defeat on the battlefield. Whilst the scope of a single article precludes a comprehensive presentation of all the exploits of the entire year, we make an endeavour in this article to provide an insight into the year's military and political successes achieved by the Mujahideen. In comparison to the past years, 2012 was extraordinarily successful for the Jihad. In fact, the enemy itself has conceded this palpable fact. The influential American Wall Street Journal, in its issue of the 24 June 2012 published that in the year 2012 the Mujahideen attacks had increased by 21%. The daily journal reported that during the month of May 2012, the Mujahideen had staged 3000 attacks on the coalition forces. In another report on 17th July, 2012, attributed to the Afghan puppet government, the Muhadieen attacks had risen by 40%. On 24 June, 2012, Hamid Kerzai said to parliament that on an average 20 to 25 army personnel were killed daily by the Taliban. If we should calculate on the basis of the figure provided by only Hamid Kerzai, it means that in the year 2012, 9,000 of the aggressors were destroyed. During this year alone, 11 U.S. military aircraft were shot down. Of these 11, nine were shot down on a single day – on 14 September, 2012, in the district of Shoraab in Helmand Province. The others were destroyed at Bagram airbase where the Mujahideen had attacked with rocket launchers. In addition to the military planes destroyed, 29 helicopters were destroyed. all over Afghanistan. Whilst most of these helicopters were shot down, two were attacked on the ground at the American airbase in the district Zarmut of Paktia Province. Both were reduced to ashes on 18 October. Furthermore, 14 pilotless military aircraft were downed by the Mujahideen in various locations of Afghanistan. Besides the daily quota of Jihaadi activity, the Mujahideen had successfully mounted a number of large operations inflicting considerable and severe losses on the enemy forces. On 3 January 2012 two big operations were undertaken in quick succession against police in Kandahar and border police posts. On 5 March, an attack was mounted on the airport of Kandahar. On 15 April, attacks were made on three locations in Kabul. Simultaneously, there were major attacks in Tangarhaar, Logar and Paktia where a force of 30 Mujahideen staged a 24 hour assault. On 1 June, a group of 10 Mujahideen launched a violent attack Sahrah Baagh of Khost Province. Approximately 100 foreign forces were killed in this operation……….." The Mujahideen operations are numerous to enumerate. The few mentioned above are merely a sample of what the U.S. and Nato aggressors are tasting. Previous issues of Al-Haq carries reports of some major Taliban operations which knocked out the wind of the enemy. The Taliban successfully attacked on one of America's biggest and most fortified bases which had baffled all the military experts was reported in the last issue of Al-Haq. The most conspicuous and damning evidence for America's and Nato's utter battleground defeat in Afghanistan, is the establishment of a Taliban political presence in Doha, Qatar at the behest of the U.S.A. In addition, the U.S. has removed their world's No.1 'terrorist', Mullah Omar, from their 'terrorist' list. They have realized that without speaking directly to the Taliban and Mullah Omar, there can be no peace in Afghanistan. Furthermore, without forging some sort of agreement with the Taliban, be it shortlived, the withdrawal, which is the consequence of U.S. and Nato's defeat, cannot be covered by even a thin veneer of deception. The American formula for an 'honourable' flight from Afghanistan is to announce an agreement with the Taliban, transference of power, and swiftly pull out in the resultant expected temporary moratorium or lull in the fighting. Once they have safely fled, the mutual killings in Afghanistan can continue. In fact, the aggressors will engineer plots to foment eternal strife and anarchy in Afghanistan just as they are currently enacting in Iraq, Pakistan and elsewhere in the world. This is their style of survival. Kill the nations of the world and grab their natural resources. It should be remembered that during America's 'glorious' days of invasion 11 years ago, the Taliban were mocked as a handful of 'bandits', 'terrorists' – a rag-tag-army of no consequence, with whom the U.S. would never condescend to talk. Never would the U.S. offer affability to the 'small group of bandits'. Or so, America thought 11 years ago whilst basking in its arrogance. Today, 11 years down the line of the glorious Jihad waged by the Taliban, the U.S. is fleeing and seeking ways of an 'honourable' exit. But even the intelligent ones in the western world are not fooled by American propaganda. America's defeat is too conspicuous to hide. Today the U.S. has twisted Qatar's arm to ensure that the office of the Taliban is functioning. The U.S. is now discussing with the selfsame people who were 'bandits' on their lists of 'terrorists'. Allah Ta'ala says in the Qur'aan Majeed: "These are the days which We rotate among the people." Eleven years of murderous bombardments, massacring of thousands of civilians and wroughting havoc, pillaging and plundering the country have not benefited the U.S. nor has it dented the morale and determination of the Taliban. On the other hand, the U.S. and its coalition have suffered losses of billions of dollars, thousands of deaths, tens of thousands of wounded, hundreds of thousands of madmen suffering from a variety of brain diseases, hundreds of suicides, and the ruin of its economy, etc. And, above all, their objective of victory has receded into oblivion, and into humiliation. "And, if Allah aids you, there is none to vanquish you, and if He withdraws His aid from you, then who is there to aid you besides Allah?" (Qur'aan) COALITION FORCES ABANDON HUNDREDS OF BASES The foreign invaders have fled from almost all their bases in the various provinces of Afghanistan. Whilst the U.S. has conceded to have abandoned 400 bases, the number is much higher. Ninety bases have been abandoned in only the Marjah district of Helmand. The Marjah Operation at one stage was billed to be the biggest 'success' in the war. However, it was a dismal failure and defeat from the very onset. In the northern and central provinces, America has fled from all their bases. They retain a presence only in the provincial capitals. The humiliating defeat sustained by the U.S. is now given the name of 'transference of power' to the Afghans. This is the new American propaganda to cover the defeat of its forces on the battleground. In this regard the Taliban comment: "When the U.S. was utterly defeated in Vietnam, its formula for fleeing was to announce 'victory' and run. They are today enacting the same formula in Afghanistan. The formula for fleeing is to proclaim 'victory and transference of power'. Finally, we attribute all the successes of the Mujahideen to only Divine Aid. What other answer is there for the victories achieved by the comparatively unarmed Afghans facing the most powerful and the bloodiest, brutal superpowers of the world, and defeating them? OFFICE The opening of a political office in Qatar for the Taliban is not cause for crowing. It should be remembered that Qatar is one of the surrogate states of the U.S.A. Qatar has no option other than kowtowing to the demand of America. The Qatar office is in fact a conspicuous sign of U.S. weakness and evidence for America's and Nato's defeat in Afghanistan. The office has been opened for the Taliban at the behest and command of the U.S.A. It is a facesaving measure which is part of the formula to flee from Afghanistan with some semblance of respect. The office is not an independent achievement between the Taliban and Qatar. Whilst there are benefits for the Tali- ban in the political office, they should not be naïve and become the victims of U.S. conspiracy. The U.S. is a shameless and a dishonourable bandit capable of violating the pledge of safety it has given the Taliban via the Qatar puppet "Do not drag your eyes (casting long gazes of desire) at the glitter of the world which We have granted to the various groups among them (i.e. the kuffaar). The purpose is so that We involve them in trials in this (glitter of the world). The Rizq of your Rabb is best and enduring." (Aayat 131, Taahaa) The Taliban appear to be suffering a lapse in this regard. They are becoming entrapped in the same snare – the crave for international recognition which had constrained them to compromise Deeni principles to gain the pleasure of the western world. Allah Ta'ala then snatched away sovereignty from them. They had forgotten Him and began believing that for their worldly success they are in need of the recognition of the kuffaar and fussaaq international community. They had either forgotten or had attached no significance to the Qur'aanic aayat: "Verily, the earth belongs to Allah. He grants its sovereignty to whomever from His servants He wishes. And, the ultimate victory is for the Muttaqeen." (Aayat 128, Al-A'raaf) The Qur'aan commands the Mu'mineen to say: "O King of Sovereignty! You grant sovereignty to whomever You wish, and you snatch away sovereignty (political power) from whomever You wish. You grant honour to whomever You wish and you humiliate whomever You wish." (Aayat 26, Aal-e-Imtaan) In the backdrop of these explicit Qur'aanic declarations, why do the Taliban now, on the threshold of political power, look askance at the kuffaar for recognition? Neither France nor Japan nor the entire world put together will be able to recognize the Taliban if Allah Ta'ala selects disgrace and defeat for them. All the battlefield victories achieved by the Taliban were not the products of recognition by the international community nor of the internet propaganda war in which the Taliban is now participating. Neither France nor Japan nor any one of the so-called Muslim states had rallied to aid the Taliban in their hour and years of need. On the contrary, the entire international community including all the so-called Muslim states without any exception had joined the U.S. coalition in the bid to crush and obliterate the Taliban. Muslim support for the U.S. in its campaign to obliterate the Taliban was so solid that the Saudi regime had even banned the Imaams in the Haramain from making Dua for the Mujahideen. But, when America was participating and fully supporting the Afghan Jihad against the Soviet Union, the Imaams of the Haramain were offering long and stirring supplications during the Jumuah Khutbah for the victory of the Mujahideen. The Mujahideen were given royal treatment in Saudi Arabia and in all the Arab lands. But when the U.S. invaded Afghanistan the tables were turned. The Taliban were reduced to a forlorn and helpless group lost in a state of near hopelessness. They became pariahs, despised and hounded. Depicting this forlorn state of the Mu'mineen, the Qur'aan Majeed states: "Remember the time when you were few (in number) and weak on earth. You feared that the people (the U.S. with its coalition) would annihilate you. Then Allah granted you succour, and He aided you with His help, and He fed you with wholesome food so that you be grateful." Looking askance at France, Japan and the western world for recognition is not being grateful to Allah Ta'ala. All of these states were and are still the enemies of Islam. They had publicly vowed to annihilate the Taliban. The Taliban had initially feared such annihilation as is mentioned in the above aayat. Then Allah Ta'ala from the Ghaib aided and sustained them. Now, instead of displaying greater gratitude to Allah Ta'ala and reverting more to the Sunnah, they woo the very kuffaar enemies who were part of the invading U.S. coalition of aggressors. This attitude does not bode well for the Taliban. It was the Battlefield Victory of Badr which had propelled the 'rag-tap' group of Sahaabah onto the world stage, and it is the Battlefield victory granted by Allah Ta'ala to the Taliban, which has projected them from their former forlorn and 'disgraceful' state of weakness to the present crest of the wave which they are riding. Reminding the Sahaabah of their former state of abject weakness and disgrace, the Qur'aan states: "Verily, Allah aided you at Badr when you were a disgraceful lot (i.e. in the eyes of the kuffaar). Therefore, fear Allah so that you may be grateful." (Aayat 123, Aal-e-Imraan) The Taliban should understand that it is not the internet propaganda which has brought them to this juncture where they are riding on top of the crest of a wave. It was not publicity shows at kuffaar conferences which have given them the current wave of respect and dominance. Allah Ta'ala had bestowed His mercy and honour to them purely via the Battlefield of Jihad. The Jihad on the Battlefield was not won and can never be won by internet and website propaganda. And, no amount of U.S. dissemination of falsehood did or can adversely affect the Battlefield successes which Allah Ta'ala bestows to the Mujahideen. The War has been won on the Battlefield of Jihad, not on the stupid propaganda websites to which the Taliban are now directing greater attention than to the mission of Da'wat and Tableegh which is the primary obligation of the Islamic state. Allah Ta'ala had shaded the Taliban in His Canopy of Rahmat when the world considered them a disgraceful band of bandits and terrorists. He has propelled them to the stage of dominance and honour. But, now they are seemingly missing the Pathway – forgetting Allah Azza Wa Jal. The crave for international recognition brings in its wake a dastardly compromise of the Truth and sacrifice of Deeni principles. When attending the conferences of the kuffaar and fussaaq Muslims, the Taliban who are supposed to be the Standard Bearers of Islam, are constrained to mingle with females, submit to photography, participate in the haraam food, listen to the monotonous stupidities dinned into the ears by the morons of the conference, etc. There is no prevalence of Taliban writ at these shaitaani conferences. It is the writ of the kuffaar to which the Taliban have to submit since they participate as underdogs. Whilst they are lions on the Battlefields of Jihad, they are mice at the conferences, condescending to the ways and etiquettes of the kuffaar and fussaaq. This our Naseehat is also a warning to the Taliban to beware of the snares of shaitaan who is conspiring to turn the Battlefield victories into defeats on other fronts. "What! Do you search for honour by them? Verily, all honour belongs to only Allah." (Aayat 139, An-Nisaa') Instead of looking at the enemies and having false hopes on them, the Qur'aan advises the Taliban: "Say: Sufficient for me is Allah. On Allah should the Mutawakkileen repose their tawakkul." (Aayat 38, Az-Zumar) The Taliban have not emerged from a siege. They have been tricked and trapped in yet another AmericanYahood conspiracy. – Al-Haq) Regarding progress in the political domain, the Islamic Emirate had sent its representative, Qaari Deen Muhammad Hanif, on 27 June to a conference held at a university in Japan. (In Japan, the House of Buddhist idolatry – Buddhists who are butchering Muslims in Burma and now beginning the murder in Sri Lanka. – Al-Haq) The fundamental stance of the Taliban was elucidated for the world at the conference. Then on 21 December, 2012, the Islamic Emirate participated in a conference in France where the stance of the Taliban was elaborated and clarified….. (The naivety of the Taliban is indeed lamentable. On what basis do they feel happy and proud of being allowed to participate in a silly conference in Darul Kufr and on kufr terms? – Al-Haq) In the wake of these political efforts, the road for bilateral communication with organizations and even some governments have has been cleared. (The Taliban should be more concerned to completely clear the way for greater communication with Allah Ta'ala Who has awarded them the battlefield victories over the worlds superpowers. – Al -Haq) The representatives of the Islamic Emirate have now acquired the opportunity to travel internationally to discharge their ambassadorial obligations…………" (What obligations? Alas! Despite battlefield victories, the Taliban have once again fallen in the trap of the American political snare. – Al-Haq) As a result of the numerous "green-inblue attacks (Afghan soldiers killing U.S. military personnel), trust between American forces and Afghan soldiers and police has completely eroded. The very Afghan soldiers the Americans are training are turning their guns on them. These attacks have constrained the US to institute a program called 'guardian angel' whereby US military units are selected to watch their fellow soldiers as they eat, sleep, go for defecation, or patrol with Afghan soldiers whom they have trained. So far about 100 American soldiers were killed by 'green-in-blue' attacks. Since the start of the war, a decade ago, more than 50,000 Americans have been wounded. Among the wounded, 16,000 are severely injured. The U.S. Army surgeon general's office says that 1,653 major limb amputations have been performed, and almost 2000 have suffered genital wounds. Their genitals were either destroyed or wounded by roadside bombs. This figure of 50,000 applies to only those who have sustained physical injury. The tens of thousands of soldiers who have suffered brain damage are an entirely different casualty list. The Department of Veterans Affairs is currently taking in 4000 new cases of brain damaged soldiers each month. This is the grim reality of the war for the U.S. aggressors. These figures were released by the U.S. Defense Department. Bush, the former president of the U.S. who had ordered the invasion of Afghanistan, was a known Satanist and dagga-smoker. In 2004, in his War College Address, Bush hallucinated: "These two visions, one of tyranny and murder, the other of liberty and life, clashed in Afghanistan. And thanks to brave US and coalition forces and to Afghan patriots, the nightmare of the Taliban is over and that nation is com- ing to life again." Seven years later, the Taliban are riding on the crest of the wave. The U.S. and Nato armies have been defeated by the Taliban. America is suing for peace and planning a formula for fleeing from Afghanistan with its tail between its legs. Bush really had hallucinated seven years ago that the Taliban were defeated. A global researcher, Joseph Kishore states: "Saudi Arabia, is a despotic monarchy that is a lynchpin to the broader strategy of American imperialism in the Middle East. The monarchy plays a key role not only in the drone assassination program, but also the war in Syria and efforts to suppress popular uprisings throughout the region against pro-US governments. There is widespread opposition within Saudi Arabia to the presence of the US military. After the 2003 US invasion of Iraq, bases were formally removed, though there remained a large military-intelligence presence in the country. ……. The American media in general, and the New York Times in particular, has a long and sordid record of collusion with the government in promoting war and covering up for crimes at home and abroad. Particularly since the attacks of September 11, the media has integrated itself more thoroughly into the state apparatus, going far beyond the 'embedded' reporters that travel with the US military." Whilst on his deathbed, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "Expel the Yahood and Nasaara from the Arabian Peninsula"., the evil Saudi regime has after fourteen centuries abrogated this command of Nabi (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). The Saudi monarchy has sold its soul to the American kuffaar. It has betrayed Allah Ta'ala, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), Islam and the Ummah. The Saudis are the worst treasonists who have darkened the Muslim landscape. Their very Imaan is in question. It is difficult to believe that such brutal people supporting American brutality against Muslims can still be Muslims. To support the American 'jihad' in Syria, prisoners sentenced to death have been sent by the Saudi regime to Syria in exchange for commuting their sentences. Saudi Arabia has also announced that all Saudi citizens (referring to the Mujahideen) fighting in Syria will be arrested. The kaafir Saudi regime has made it clear that aid should only be sent to the secular forces fighting the Syrian government. In support of the US, Saudi Arabia has classified as 'terrorists' the Mujahideen fighting in Syria. In Syria, total anarchy reigns. It appears that the conflagration in Syria comes within the scope of the Hadith: "The killer and the killed, both will be in the Fire." By Spencer Ackerman In the years after 9/11, the CIA ran a worldwide program to hold and interrogate suspected members of al-Qaida, sometimes brutally. It wasn't alone: The agency had literally dozens of partners that helped in ways large and small. Only it's never been clear just how many nations enabled CIA capture and torture; cooperated with it; or carried it out on behalf of the U.S. — until now. A new report from the Open Society Foundation details the CIA's effort to outsource torture since 9/11 in excruciating detail. Known as "extraordinary rendition," the practice concerns taking detainees to and from U.S. custody without a legal process — think of it like an off-the-books extradition — and often entailed handing detainees over to countries that practiced torture. The Open Society Foundation found that 136 people went through the post-9/11 extraordinary rendition, and 54 countries were complicit in it. Some were official U.S. adversaries, like Iran and Syria, brought together with the CIA by the shared interest of combating terrorism. "By engaging in torture and other abuses associated with secret detention and extraordinary rendition," writes chief Open Society Foundation investigator Amrit Singh in a report released early Tuesday, "the U.S. government violated domestic and international law, thereby diminishing its moral standing and eroding support for its counterterrorism efforts worldwide as these abuses came to light." Iran didn't do any torturing on behalf of the CIA. Instead, it quietly transferred at least 15 of its own detainees to Afghan custody in March 2002. Six of those found their way into the CIA's secret prisons. "Because the hand-over happened soon after the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan," Singh writes, "Iran was aware that the United States would have effective control over any detainees handed over to Afghan authorities." At least one of those detainees, Tawfik al-Bihani, ended up at Guantanamo Bay, where his official file makes no mention of his time with the CIA. Iran's proxy Syria did torture on behalf of the United States. The most famous case involves Maher Arar, a Canadian citizen snatched in 2002 by the U.S. at John F. Kennedy International Airport before the CIA sent him to Syria under the mistaken impression he was a terrorist. In Syrian custody, Arar was "imprisoned for more than ten months in a tiny grave-like cell, beaten with cables, and threatened with electric shocks by the Syrian government," Singh writes. But it wasn't just Arar. At least seven others were rendered to Syria. Among their destinations: a prison in west Damascus called the Palestine Branch, which features an area called "the Grave," comprised of "individual cells that were roughly the size of coffins." Syrian intelligence reportedly uses something called a "German Chair" to "stretch the spine." These days the Obama administration prefers to call for Syrian dictator Bashar Assad, the murderer of over 60,000 Syrians, to step down. Many, many other countries were complicit in the renditions. For a month, Zimbabwe hosted five CIA detainees seized from Malawi in June 2003 before they were released in Sudan. Turkey, a NATO ally, allowed a plane operated by Richmor Aviation, which has been linked to CIA renditions, to refuel in Adana in 2002 and gave an Iraqi terrorist suspect to the CIA in 2006. Lots of countries played host to CIA rendition flights, including Sri Lanka, Thailand, Afghanistan, Belgium and Azerbaijan. Italy let the plane carrying Arar refuel. Under Muammar Gadhafi, Libya was an eager participant in the CIA's rendition scheme — and the Open Society Foundation sifted through documents found after Gadhafi fell to discover that Hong Kong helped shuttle a detainee named Abu Munthir to the Libyan regime. The full 54 countries that aided in post-9/11 renditions: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, BosniaHerzegovina, Canada, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Djibouti, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, Gambia, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Libya, Lithuania, Macedonia, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritania, Morocco, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uzbekistan, Yemen, and Zimbabwe. The Open Society Foundation doesn't rule out additional ones being involved that it has yet to discover. Singh and the Open Society Foundation don't presume that the CIA is out of the extraordinary renditions game under Obama. Danger Room pal Jeremy Scahill recently toured a prison in Somalia that the CIA uses. While Obama issued an executive order in 2009 to get the CIA out of the detentions business, the order "did not apply to facilities used for short term, transitory detention." The Obama administration says it won't transfer detainees to countries without a pledge from a host government not to torture them — but Syria's Assad made exactly that pledge to the U.S. before torturing Maher Arar. Much of this is likely to be contained in the Senate intelligence committee's recent report into CIA torture. It's unclear when, if ever, that report will be declassified. But the Open Society Foundation's study into renditions comes right as Obama aide John Brennan — already under pressure to clarify his role, if any, in post-9/11 torture — is about to testify to the panel ahead of becoming CIA director. It remains to be seen if the Senate committee will ask Brennan to clarify if the CIA still practices extraordinary rendition, along with its old friends. THE WAR ON TERROR HOAX Extracts from an article by Paul Adams, Juris Doctor Justified by the War on Terror hoax, the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) was recently signed into law (assuming Obama is legitimately the president, which is a huge assumption). The legislation declared the United States a battlefield. The military can arrest American citizens, detain them indefinitely, torture and interrogate them without charge or trial. In essence, this Act implemented martial law in the United States. It also nullifies the Magna Carta of 1215, Bill of Rights and Posse Comitatus, which prohibited the military policing civilians inside the U.S. since 1878. More and more people are learning that the Federal Reserve is a private cartel that enriches corrupt banksters by creating money out of nothing and loaning it at interest, thereby enslaving the population with a debt that can never be repaid. Recently the head of security at the San Antonio Federal Reserve bank admitted that the institution is private, as did a San Francisco Federal Reserve employee. Additionally, the public is aware that the largest banks were bailed out with $29 trillion dollars created from nothing. Those same banks continue to foreclose on the homes of people that actually had to produce a good or service to make their monthly mortgage payments. It is now common knowledge that the drug war is a fraud. Low-level street dealers of marijuana are arrested and placed in cages smaller than those of many zoo animals at taxpayer expense. At the same time, the CIA imports massive quantities of cocaine and heroin to fund their murderous black operations. It hasn't rebuilt Afghanistan. It hasn't removed the warlords from power, curtailed opium production, established strong democratic institutions, or improved life for ordinary working people. The US hasn't achieved any of its strategic objectives. The Taliban are stronger than ever, the central government is a corrupt farce, and, after 11 years of war, the country is in a shambles. This is what defeat looks like. The US military has been defeated by a poorlyarmed militia which has demonstrated a superior grasp of modern warfare and asymmetric engagement. The Taliban has shown that they are more adaptable, more motivated, and smarter. That's why they prevailed. That's why they beat the world's most celebrated army. Americans don't like to hear that kind of talk. They're very proud of their military and are willing to pay upwards of $1 trillion per year to keep it outfitted in the most advanced weaponry on earth. But weapons don't win wars, neither does propaganda. If they did, the US would have won long ago, but they don't. What wins wars is tactics, operations, and strategy, and that's where the emphasis must be if one expects to succeed.. Here's an excerpt from an article by William S. Lind explaining why the US mission in Afghanistan failed: "A general rule of warfare is that a higher level trumps a lower, and technique is the lowest level of all. Our SEALs, Rangers, Delta, SF, and all the rest are vastly superior to the Taliban or al-Qaeda at techniques. But those opponents have sometimes shown themselves able at tactics, operations, and strategy. We can only defeat them by making ourselves superior at those higher levels of war. There, regrettably, Special Operations Forces have nothing to offer. They are just another lead bullet in an obsolete Second Generation arsenal." ("What's so special about Special Ops?", William S. Lind, The American Conservative) The US military's high-tech gadgetry and pilotless drones merely disguise the fact that America is still fighting the last war and hasn't adapted to the new reality. Here's more from Lind expanding on the same theory: "The greatest intellectual challenge in Fourth Generation war—war against opponents that are not states—is how to fight it at the operational level. NATO in Afghanistan, like the Soviets three decades ago, has been unable to solve that riddle. But the Taliban appears to have done so…. The Soviet army focused its best talent on operational art. But in Afghanistan, it failed, just as we have failed. Like the Soviets, we can take and hold any piece of Afghan ground. And doing so brings us, like the Soviets, not one step closer to strategic victory. The Taliban, by contrast, have found an elegant way to connect strategy and tactics in decentralized modern warfare. What passes for NATO's strategy is to train sufficient Afghan forces to hold off the Taliban once we pull out. The Taliban's response has been to have men in Afghan uniformmany of whom actually are Afghan government soldiers or police—turn their guns on their NATO advisers. That is a fatal blow against our strategy because it makes the training mission impossible. Behold operational art in Fourth Generation war…… The Taliban know this technique is operational, not just tactical. They can be expected to put all their effort into it. What counter do we have? Just order our troops to pretend it is not happening—to keep trusting their Afghan counterparts. That order, if enforced, will put our soldiers in such an untenable position that morale will collapse." ("Unfriendly Fire", William S. Lind, The American Conservative) Lind does not underestimate the Taliban or dismiss them as "ignorant goat herders". In fact, he appears to admire the way they have mastered 4-G warfare and routed an enemy that has vastly superior technology, communications and firepower. It helps to prove his basic thesis that tactics, operations, and strategy are what matter most. For more than a decade, the Taliban have been carrying out an impressive guerrilla war frustrating attempts by the US to establish security, hold ground or expand the power of the central (Karzai) government. In the last year, however, the militia's efforts have paid off as so-called "green on blue" shootings–where coalition troops have been killed by Afghan soldiers or policemen –have dashed US plans to maintain a client regime in Kabul when US combat operations end and American troops withdraw. The Taliban found the weaklink in the Pentagon's strategy and has used it to full advantage. "As American Security Project Central and South Asia specialist Joshua Foust puts it, 'The training mission is the foundation of the current strategy. Without that mission, the strategy collapses. The war is adrift, and it's hard to see how anyone can avoid a complete disaster at this point.'" ("The Day we lost Afghanistan", The National Interest) TIME TO CUT AND RUN? The persistent green on blue attacks have convinced US and NATO leaders that the war cannot be won which is why President Barack Obama has decided to throw in the towel. Here's a clip from a speech Obama gave in May at a NATO confab in Chicago: "I don't think that there is ever going to be an optimal point where we say, this is all done, this is perfect, this is just the way we wanted it and now we can wrap up all our equipment and go home…Our coalition is committed to this plan to bring our war in Afghanistan to a responsible end." The political class is calling it quits. They've decided to cut their losses and leave. Here's how the New York Times summed it up: "After more than a decade of having American blood spilled in Afghanistan…it is time for United States forces to leave Afghanistan ….. It should not take more than a year. The United States will not achieve even President Obama's narrowing goals, and prolonging the war will only do more harm…. We need to exit as soon as we safely can. What happened to the steely resolve to fight the good fight for as long as it takes; to liberate Afghan women, to spread democracy to far-flung Central Asia, and to crush the fanatical Taliban once and for all? Was it all just empty posturing aimed at ginning up the war machine and swaying public opinion? DEFEAT Ahh, but lending a hand to "marginalized and oppressed" women doesn't really hold a candle to "America's global interests", now does it? As one might expect, the Times most heartfelt feelings are shaped by political expediency. In any event, the Times tacit admission proves that the war was never really about liberating women or spreading democracy or even killing bin Laden. It was about "America's global interests", particularly, pipeline corridors, mineral extraction and the Great Game, controlling real estate in thriving Eurasia, the economic center of the next century. That's why the US invaded Afghanistan, the rest is propaganda. There's one other glaring omission in the Times article that's worth noting. The editors tiptoe around the one word that most accurately summarises the situation: Defeat. The United States is not leaving Afghanistan voluntarily. It was defeated. The US military was defeated in the same way that the IDF was defeated by Hezbollah in the summer of 2006, by underestimating the tenacity, the skill, the ferocity, the adaptability, and the intelligence of their adversary. That's why Israel lost the war in Lebanon. And that's why the US lost the war in Afghanistan. There's a reason why the media won't use the term defeat however applicable it may be. It's because your average "Joe" understands defeat, the shame of defeat, the sting of defeat, the anger of defeat. Defeat is a repudiation of leadership, proof that we are ruled by fools and scoundrels. Defeat is also a powerful deterrent, the idea festers in people's minds and turns them against foreign interventions, police actions and war. That's why the Times won't utter the word, because defeat is the antidote for aggression, and the Times doesn't want that. None of the media do. But the truth is, the United States was defeated in Afghanistan. If we can grasp that fact, then maybe can stop the next war before it gets started. RASULULLAH (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: "The Aimmah are from the Quraish." There is Ijma' of the Ummah that the Ameerul Mu'mineen – the Ruler of the entire Ummah – can only be from the Quraish. The title, Ameerul Mu'mineen, has acquired Shar'i significance. Only if the Ruler is from the Quraish Tribe may this designation be appropriated for him. The first four Khulafa-eRaashideen were from the Quraish, hence the title applied to them. The Bani Ummayyah and the Abbaasi Khilaafats were also of the Quraish, hence the Rulers had validly borne the title, Ameerul Mu'mineen. In our age, we fail to understand the basis on which Mullah Omar, the Amir of the Afghani Muslims, has acquired the title of Ameerul Mu'mineen. Mullah Omar is not from the Quraish Tribe. It is therefore improper to apply the title of Ameerul Mu'mineen to him. Despite Sultan Salaahuddeen Ayyubi (rahmatullah alayh) having held the reigns of actual political power, he did not appropriate the title of Ameerul Mu'mineen. Despite the Abbaasi Khalifah in Baghdad having remained a nominal head, Sultan Salaahuddin reigned as a subject of the Khalifah. He had the name of the Khalifah reinstated in the Jumuah Khutbah. For sometime the petty rulers had discontinued mentioning the Khalifah in the Jumuah Khutbah. However, the Sultan restored the Khalifah to his rightful status since he was of the Quraish, whilst Sultan Salaahiddin was a Kurd. Ruin and disaster are the logical consequences of the total collapse of a country's economy. Since the economy of the U.S.A. has totally collapsed, the only avenue for the survival of America is to unleash wars to grab the natural resources of the so-called 'third world' countries which in reality are the wealthiest lands which are plundered by the West as well as by the most corrupt rulers and governments installed in these countries by the U.S. The following extracts from an article by Sorchia Faal, Russian Move Against US called "First Shot" of World War 111, throws some light on this scenario: "….But this report reminds us, the current budget deficit of the US has now reached the staggering amount of $15.23 trillion which is the size of its entire economy, and with the Federal Reserve preparing to begin another round of massive printing this summer, could very well signal the collapse of the entire American economy…… As is always the case in these type of dire matters, reports from the US show its mainstream propaganda media organs are not reporting on this potential- ly catastrophic turn of events leading to yet another circumstance where the American people will be taken by complete surprise when this cold war suddenly turns hot. ……. Professor Panarin further warned that "a secret agreement was reached between Canada Mexico and the US on a common Amero currency as a new monetary unit" and said that "this could signal preparations to replace the dollar. These calamities are the Athaab (Punishment) of Allah Ta'ala. Profuse mention of such punishment is made in the Qur'aan and Ahaadith. Kuffaar domination over Muslims is also a form of Divine Punishment for the latter. About the punishment of earthquakes and natural disasters during the era in close proximity of Qiyaamah, and which are frequent occurrences of this age, it appears in a Hadith: "A man asked Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam): 'When will come the Hour (of Qiyaamah)?' Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: 'When Amaanat (Trust) is destroyed (abused, misappropriated), then await the Hour." The man asked: 'How will Amaanat be destroyed?' Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) replied: 'When affairs (of importance and trust) are assigned to those who are unfit, then await the Hour." In another Hadith, Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam), recounting some of the signs of Qiyaamah, said: "When Knowledge (of the Deen) is acquired for purposes other than the Deen; when the husband obeys his wife; when a man is insolently disobedient to his mother; when a man brings his friend close to him and distances (from him) his father; when voices are raised in the Musaajid, and when a community appoints as its leader an immoral person, then at that time beware of a red wind (storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc.), earthquakes, transfiguration (people becoming disfigured and transformed into pigs and apes), and (showers of) stones (from the skies)." "Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Schaffer went public regarding the existence of the Able Danger program that had identified alleged 9/11 lead hijacker Mohammed Atta and three other alCIAeda operatives operating in the United States prior to 9/11. Over 1,600 architects and engineers say the official 9/11 story is a fraud as do hundreds of government officials. For more than a decade, US forces have fought many types of wars in Afghanistan, from a lowfootprint invasion, to multiple surges, to a flirtation with Vietnam-style counterinsurgency, to a ramped-up, gloves -off air war. And yet, despite all the experiments in styles of war-making, the American military and its coalition partners have ended up in the same place: stalemate, which in a battle with guerrillas means defeat. For years, a modest-sized, generally unpopular, ragtag set of insurgents has fought the planet's most heavily armed, technologically advanced military to a standstill, leaving the country shaken and its citizens anxiously imagining the outcome of unpalatable scenarios. The first compromise, suggests the possibility of reaching some sort of almost inconceivable power-sharing agreement with multiple insurgent militias. While Washington presses for negotiations with its designated enemy, "the Taliban", representatives of President Hamid Karzai's High Peace Council, which includes 12 members of the former Taliban government and many sympathisers, are making the rounds to talk disarmament and reconciliation with all the armed insurgent groups that the Afghan intelligence service has identified across the country. There are 1,500 of them. One member of the Council told me, "It will take a long time before we get to Mullah Omar [the Taliban's titular leader]. Some of these militias can't even remember what they've been fighting about." The second scenario, open conflict, would mean another dreaded round of civil war like the one in the 1990s, after the Soviet Union withdrew in defeat - the one that destroyed the Afghan capital, Kabul, devastated parts of the country, and gave rise to the Taliban…. These days Kabul resounds with the blasts of suicide bombers, IEDs, and sporadic gunfire. Armed men are everywhere in anonymous uniforms that defy identification. Any man with money can buy a squad of bodyguards, clad in classy camouflage and wraparound shades, and armed with assault weapons. Yet Kabulis, trying to carry on normal lives in the relative safety of the capital, seem to maintain a distance from the war going on in the provinces…. And if the state collapses, too? Afghans of a certain age remember well the last time the country was left on its own, after the Soviets departed in 1989, and the US also terminated its covert aid. The mujahideen parties - Islamists all of them - agreed to take turns ruling the country, but things soon fell apart and they took turns instead lobbing rockets into Kabul, killing tens of thousands of civilians, reducing entire districts to rubble, raiding and raping - until the Taliban came up from the south and put a stop to everything." After their press conference was cancelled yesterday over "security concerns," Afghan President Hamid Karzai finally met with Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel today, albeit in private. Hagel put a brave face on the situation after the meeting, downplaying differences with Karzai, who has accused the US of "colluding" with the Taliban. But even putting aside that rhetorical issue, Hagel's visit has coincided with a series of incidents that suggest the US occupation, nearing its 12th full year, is flying apart at the seams, with insider attacks and popular opposition once again on the rise. Yesterday, Afghan university student Abdul Qayum detailed his kidnapping and torture at the hands of an apparent CIA strike force, while protesters in the Wardak Province today blasted US special forces for ignoring a deadline to withdraw from the province after being caught in a series of "disappearances" and murders of their own. Some villagers are threatening an outright revolt if the troops remain, while the US seems opposed to removing them. The dirty war behind the Afghan occupation has always been smoldering just under the surface, but is becoming more and more obvious and ugly, with US commanders openly refusing to ever hand over detainees held without charges unless the Karzai government promises never to give them trials. Officials maintain the detainees are "dangerous," but concede they don't have the evidence to ensure them being convicted in an actual court of law. Death tolls also seem on the rise today too, with a pair of US soldiers killed in an insider attack in Wardak, and then another five killed in a helicopter crash. Each of the issues and many more have been brewing for a long time, but with so many coming to a head at once, it seems that official claims of "progress" in the war are getting more and more farcical, and the sustainability of the war in serious doubt. Alex Spillius THE United States indisputably" tortured terrorist - suspects in the years after the September 11 attacks, a bipartisan task force has concluded. A two-year study by the Constitution Project - the most ambitious effort so far to document the controversial practices of the war on terror - con -cluded that there was "no justification" for the so-called "enhanced interrogation techniques" deployed by the George Bush administration, which it said violated both international and American law. "It is indisputable that the United States engaged in the practice of torture," said the 577-page report by the highpowered Washington watchdog of former Congress members, lawyers, judges, military officials and diplomats. "I had not recognized the depths of torture in some cas- es," James Jones, a Democrat and former ambassador to Mexico, said. The report detailed numerous legal cases in which dubious treatment used by Americans on terrorist suspects after 2001 was prosecuted in the US or was denounced as torture by Washington when applied by other states. Legal justification drawn up by US government lawyers was derided as "acrobatic" advice to justify brutal interrogative methods, such as waterboarding, sleep deprivation and chaining prisoners in painful positions. The Daily Telegraph (The Herald 18/04/13) Pride and arrogance are features of stupidity and insanity. A stupid person having achieved worldly opulence almost always becomes the victim of pride. When the monetary opulence is supplemented with political power, the poor soul falls prey to a degree of mental derangement which is insanity of a kind. He then behaves somewhat like a mad man. All presidents, prime ministers, cabinet ministers and the like of this age suffer from these maladies. The following episode, as hilarious as it may appear, is a factual occurrence which portrays the stupidity and insanity of the man. During the early 60's, the Governor General of Pakistan (the nominal head of a British colony granted independence was known as 'governor general'. After the country declared itself a republic, the chap became known by the title, 'president'. – perhaps it was Mohammed Ali (not the Jinnah character) -- happened to visit a madhouse in Pakistan. As he entered the madhouse, he saw a mad man enclosed in a big cage. The insane person was encaged due to his violence. When the governor general walked up to the cage to have a closer look, the mad man mockingly said: "Here comes another character like me." The proud and arrogant governor general's pride was sorely injured. In anger, he blurted out: "Do you know who I am? I am the governor general of Pakistan!" Allah Ta'ala inspired some words of wisdom into the heart of the mad man who calmly responded: "Once upon a time, I too was saying that I am the governor general of Pakistan." By this comment the mad man implied that that the mad house is the ultimate abode of men of pride and arrogance. People have reported that prior to his death, the poor governor general did suffer mental derangement. "And, if Allah withdraws His aid from you, then who is there besides Him to help you." (Qur'aan) THERE APPEARS TO be no longer hope of success and victory for the universal Ummah. The islaah (reformation) of this Ummah is now left to Imaam Mahdi (alayhis salaam). Whilst small pockets of Muslims here and there, will struggle to adhere to the Deen and strive to order their lives according to the Sunnah, the vast majority of professed Muslims are increasingly displaying anti-Islam postures. It is a reality to understand and accept that Muslims of the world today have only a nominal relationship with Islam. While they profess to be Muslims, they wallow egregiously in not only emulous imitation of the kuffaar in every sphere of life, but in actual kufr. The professed Muslim Ummah of today comes glaringly within the light of the following Hadith narrated by Hadhrat Abdullah Bin Amr (radhiyallahu anhu): "There will dawn a time when the people will assemble in their Musaajid, and perform Salaat, whilst not a single one among them will be a Mu'min." The behavioural pattern of the life of professed Muslims conspicuously portrays that they are kuffaar at heart. They are in almost total abnegation of, not only external practices of the Deen, viz., the Sunnah, but also of Aqaaid (Beliefs). It is precisely for this reason that in every Muslim country, the masses make no secret of their abhorrence of Islam whenever there is even mention of the Shariah and the imposition of the Shariah as the law of the land. Consider the conflagration in Egypt. Presently, the violence is not between the kuffaar and Muslims. It is between lukewarm Muslims (the Muslim Brotherhood) led by President Mohammed Mursi, and such elements who are born Muslims and profess to be Muslims. And, what has ignited the conflagration of total anarchy and chaos engulfing Egypt and neutralizing the government's slightest inclination of moving in the direction of Islam? It is abhorrence for the Sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). Not so long ago, hundreds of thousands of protesters marched voicing their opposition to an extremely lukewarm 'Islamic' draft constitution. The protesting louts destroying private and public property shouted profanities against the Muslim Brotherhood and the draft constitution which they perceived to be 'Islamic' although it is not even a shadow of the Shariah. The very name 'Islam' or any suggested proposal which has an Islamic flavour, sends alarm bells of public abhorrence. Hundreds of thousands of so-called 'Muslims' are prepared to turn the country upside down in the satanic bid to prevent the introduction of even a watered down 'shariah' which is not the genuine Shariah of the Qur'aan and Sunnah. Howling their crave for a western kuffaar constitution, all of these miserable villains posing as 'Muslims' are the 'kaafiroon' mentioned in the following Qur'aanic aayat: "Those who do not decide/ decree/govern according to that (Shariah) which Allah has revealed, verily they are the kaafiroon." Mursi, hemmed in by an evil, immoral population and an evil army in cahoots with Israel, has been rendered ineffective. He is unable to introduce what he believes is Islam. The same scenario exists in Syria where the anarchy is between the kaafir Assad regime of brutality and the secularists fully backed by America and the West. The handful of Mujahideen participating in the Syrian imbroglio are a temporary phenomenon. They will soon pass into oblivion when they will be kicked out by the secularists once Assad has been dealt with. This was the fate of the couple of hundred Arab Mujahideen in Bosnia. After the US had decided that it was time to force a 'peace' between the Bosnian Muslims and the Serbs, the Mujahideen were booted out. Those who had remained, having married Bosnian women, were disarmed. In Iraq too, the 'Sunni' masses were quickly bought over by the US to fight and evict the foreign Mujahideen who had a pact with the Sunni tribes. The same has happened in Mauritania. The masses refuse to have any truck with the Deen, hence they welcomed the French invasion to 'liberate' them and the City of Timbuktu which was held briefly by the Mujahideen. In Pakistan and Bangladesh, all Ulama parties perform miserably in the elections. The masses abhor the idea of having a Shariah government, hence they vote for the kuffaar secularists who pose as Muslims. In these countries, like in all Muslim countries, the populations are incorrigible kuffaar, but masquerading as Muslims and speaking of Islam whilst there is no semblance of Islam in them. The sole exception is Afghanistan where, Alhamdulillah, the people, due to their primitive lifestyle, are still traditional Muslims to some extent. The Taliban are fighting for the establishment of the Shariah. Thus, they have Allah's Nustat (Aid) whereby they have defeated the most powerful armies of the kuffaar world. Since the Ummah appears to be beyond the confines of redemption, the condition of Muslims is not about to improve. They will slither further down the slippery abyss of humiliation, licking the boots of the West and considering it to be honourable. The brains of Muslims are completely colonized by the West. There is, therefore, no surprise when calamities on a massive scale befall Muslims. Along with the degradation of the masses, the majority of the Ulama too has fallen by the wayside, having lost the Pathway of the Deen. Both the Ulama and the masses have become treacherous, betraying Allah Ta'ala and Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam). We should therefore not expect out condition to change for the better. IN MARCH OF this year, the former president of Pakistan, the traitor Parvez Musharraf, returned to Pakistan after a self-imposed exile of four years. On his return he displayed considerable gusto, boasting: "I fear only Allah". Imagine a man with so much Muslim blood on his hands – a man who sold the entire nation and the Muslims of Afghanistan for American dollars – a tyrant who handed countless Kalimah reciters to the Americans to be tortured in their secret torture-chambers, proclaiming that he "feared only Allah". Musharaaf on his return to fight in the upcoming parliamentary elections, boasted: "People said I would not come. Where are those people now? People were trying to scare me. I fear only Allah, no one else." The 1,000 odd supporters cheering him at the airport must have been a wonderful morale booster for Musharraf. Hardly a month after his arrival, the court disallowed him from participating in the elections. Musharraf was summoned to court. In court, after the judges ordered his arrest for treason committed on 2007, he lost his nerve and ignominiously fled from the courtroom like a rat. He ran, dashing from the Islamabad High Court, jumped into his car and sped off. Some lawyers gave chase with their vehicles, but lost the fleeing Musharraf. Reports now say that he has been placed under house arrest. This is the kind of 'courage' the brutal tyrant has displayed. In his flight from the High Court, he completely forgot about Allah Ta'ala. How can such a cowardly monster ever remember Allah Ta'ala when he does not believe in Allah Ta'ala? Just picture the rat fleeing from the High Court so cowardly. Yet, once upon a time he was the Commander of Pakistan's armed forces and the president of Pakistan. In a Hadith narrated by Abu Nadhrah, he says: "Once whilst sitting in the company of Jaabir Bin Abdullah (radhiyallahu anhu), he said: 'Soon the people of Iraq will have neither food nor money.' We asked: 'Why would this happen?' He responded: 'This will be because of the non-Arabs.' Then he said: 'Soon the people of Shaam (Syria) will have neither food nor money.' When we asked: Why would this be so?', he replied: Because of the Romans." It is possible that this Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) is a prediction bringing the current Iraqi and Syrian upheavals within its scope. The non-Arabs and the Romans in the context of this interpretation are the satanic United Nations and the Christians, primarily the U.S.A. The suffering of the Iraqis and Syrians depicted in this Hadith aptly applies currently to these two lands. WASHINGTON - The number of US troops committing suicide set a record in 2012, exceeding the number of combat deaths, the Pentagon said on Monday. The Pentagon said 349 active-duty troops killed themselves in 2012, up more than 15% from 2011 despite renewed efforts by the military to stem the suicide rate. "This is an epidemic that cannot be ignored," said Senator Patty Murray, who championed legislation last year to improve suicide prevention efforts and mental health care for troops and veterans. "As our newest generation of service members and veterans face unprecedented challenges, today's news shows we must be doing more to ensure they are not slipping through the cracks." Suicide prevention efforts The army, as the largest service, counted the biggest number of suicides, with 182 soldiers killing themselves in 2012, according to preliminary figures. The navy had 60 suicides, the air force had 59 and the marines had 48. The figures were first reported by the Associated Press. The Pentagon pointed to steps to bolster suicide prevention efforts, including expanding a suicide prevention hotline. Still, US defence secretary Leon Panetta last year acknowledged that the suicides were the most frustrating issue he had faced since taking over the Pentagon in 2011. "Despite the increased efforts, the increased attention, the trends continue to move in a troubling and tragic direction," Panetta told at a joint Pentagon- department of veterans affairs suicide prevention conference in June. The suicide figures far surpassed the 237 US troops killed in action last year in Afghanistan, as well as the 313 killed in support of the Afghan war more broadly - a figure that includes deaths outside the country. It was the highest number of suicides since the United States went to war in Afghanistan in 2001. The department of veterans affairs estimates that, roughly, a veteran commits suicide once every 80 minutes in America, a trend that may be worsening. Last year, Reuters reached out to every state in the United States to inquire about suicides among veterans.
