Question
In the UK there is a mufti called Abu Layth who believes that human beings descended from monkeys. Please comment. Can he still be a Muslim?
Answer
The chap, called Abu Layth is a monkey at heart, hence he says that people have originated from monkeys. In the Qur'aan it is mentioned that Allah Ta'ala had punished some people by transforming them into monkeys. This Abu Layth character may be one of those monkeys. He is a shaitaan. He is not a Muslim.
