Who is Khidhr? Is he alive?
Answer
Hadhrat Khidhr (Alayhis salaam) is shrouded in mystery. The popular majority view of the Ulama is that he is still alive. The minority view is that although he has died, he appears in human form executing duties imposed on him by Allah Ta'ala. Numerous Auliya in all ages have personally met him. On the basis of the popular view, he is a couple of thousand years old. There is some explanation regarding Khidhr (Alayhis salaam) in the last Ruku' of the 15thJuz and the beginning pages of the 16thJuz.
