What Duas, etc. should be recited for the marhoom from day one until the 40th day?
Answer
There is nothing specific to be recited for the marhoom (deceased) from day 1 to day 40. The 'khatam' ceremonies organized during this period are bid'ah. For the benefit of the marhoom, recite the Qur'aan Majeed, any portion and any amount, and at any time, and ask Allah Ta'ala to transfer the thawaab to the deceased. The marhoom benefits much from any good deed which his relatives perform on his behalf.
