Question
It is mentioned in the Hadith that one should not eat at a place where wine is served. In the plane the water and food are kept together with wine. If one is very thirsty, may one drink the water given on the plane?
Answer
Normally one should never eat of the plane‟s food nor drink even the water. Plane food is contaminated with filth. It is haram. However, if one is very thirsty, one may drink the water. It will not come within the scope of the prohibition stated in the Hadith.
When travelling by plane, take along your own lunch.
