Answer

Allah Ta'ala has bestowed sound Aql (Intelligence) to all Muslims even to simple village folk. In view of natural Imaani intelligence, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said: ―Seek a fatwa from your heart.‖

The issue of pictures is not a conundrum. It is not an intricate issue defying simple intelligence. A Mu'min is not in need of academic knowledge to understand this simple issue. The intelligence of a sincere unbiased Muslim revolts against the stupid claim that a picture is not a picture if the method of production differs. The claim of most of these morons is absurd. However, since the vast majority of people are the slaves of their nafs, the selfevident absurdity is quite appeasing and palatable for them.

While Taqleed is a necessary concept of the Deen, monkey and donkey taqleed is haraam. Regarding monkey and donkey taqleed, Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi

PICTURES ARE HARAAM

(Rahmatullah alayh) said:

―The need is for Fahm-e- Saheeh (Correct/well-balanced understanding). If one is blessed with Fahm-e-Saheeh, the reality will be readily comprehensible. If such understanding is lacking, then taqleed of buzrugs (moron molvis and muftis) will be made. Whatever others do will be imitated. The consequence of such (stupid) taqleed will be such as that suffered by a baboon…

For making taqleed of buzrugs, the need for Aql is imperative. Maulana Rumi said that taqleed of the juhala has destroyed the people. …‖

People are quick to make taqleed of bid'ati so-called sufis and now of these liberal, modernist, deviant molvis and muftis, simply on the basis of nafsaani pleasure and appeasement. Such taqleed is monkey and donkey taqleed. Pictures are haraam regardless of the

method of production.

SIGN OF WISDOM

―Lengthening Salaat and shortening the Khutbah is a sign of a man's wisdom.‖

(Hadith)

However, this does not mean that the Salaat should be lengthened to the extent of causing inconvenience to the musallis. It was the practice of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallam) on Jumuah to recite Surah A'laa in the first raka'at and Surah Ghaashiyah in the second

raka't.

THE DEEN

A person who denies any of the fundamentals of the Deen even by way of interpretation is a kaafir. Therefore the Qadianis cannot save themselves from kufr. Ta'weel of the Dhururiyaat (fundamentals) of the Deen does not prevent the decree of Kufr. It prevents the decree of kufr in issues which are not of the Fundamentals. Of the Fundamentals are Salaat, Saum, Hajj, Zakaat, etc. (Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf

Ali Thanvi)

The kufr of the Shias is worse than the kufr of the Qadianis.

Hadhrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi (Rahmatullah alayh), commenting on the misrepresentation presented by authors in the biographies of their Shaikhs, said:

―Nowadays most biographies are corrupt. After the era of the Salaf considerable natural frailties have surfaced in all (the ulama and buzrugs whose biographies are written). Honesty demands that even their frailties be recorded in their biographies.

However, this is not done. Even the deficiencies are elevated to virtues by means of interpretations. They (the biographers) believe that if the deficiencies (of their Buzrugs) are also mentioned, it will detract from their status. Therefore, they conceal these deficiencies.

In addition to this attitude being improper from the historical perspective, it is also false from the Deeni perspective. It is blatant deception. There is no need to conceal such facts (the deficiencies). Even if it is mentioned that on the basis of such deficiencies the buzrug is not qualified for being followed, then there is nothing improper in this. The deeds of the Ambiya (Alayhimus salaam) are emulated. The actions of the Ummati is not proof. Only Fatwa is hujjat (i.e. Fatwa based on the principles of the Shariah has the force of the Shariah). I detest such concealment.‖

Natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis, locust swarms, volcanic eruptions, etc. are all the effects and decrees of the Command of Allah Ta'ala. These occurrences are not mere aimless accidents leaving mayhem and destruction in their wake. Everything to be affected whether by death or damage is decreed by Allah Ta'ala.

The earthquake and the tsunami take in their sweep only those and that which Allah Ta'ala has earmarked. The killing and destruction by natural disasters are not stupid random acts. In this regard, the Qur'aan Majeed states:

―When they (the kuffaar) saw it as a rain-bearing cloud approaching their (droughtstricken) valleys, they exclaimed (in happiness): ―This is a cloud that will bring rain to us.‖

In fact, it is that (punishment) which you had (haughtily)

demanded to be hastened. It is a fierce wind in which there is a painful punishment. It will demolish everything by the command of its Rabb.‖

Thus, all deaths and destruction by natural disasters are by the decree of Allah Ta'ala, and the Destroyer (the earthquake, hurricane, etc.) executes its task within the limits prescribed by the Divine Decree.
