Question
A car-tracker company offers a package of car tracking in which a person will benefit from what they call 'Impact detection', which means when the car is involved in an accident (Allah forbid), then they are notified and if they find out the person requires aid they send emergency staff like the police, and also medical staff if an ambulance and hospital is needed etc. This is included in the package in which a payment of R169 pm is due for 36 months contract. Is this permissible?
Answer
It is an insurance package, hence haraam.
