Is it permissible to sell cigarettes and tobacco? Will the money be halaal?
Answer
Selling tobacco and cigarettes is not permissible. The income is haraam. Just like dagga (hashish) is halaal for medical purposes, so too is tobacco permissible for medical purposes. But this permissibility of dagga does not make the income halaal if it is sold for haraam purposes. The same applies to tobacco.
