I gave my friend a sum of money with the intention of Zakaat without mentioning it to him. He is heavily in debt. I said that it is a gift. Is my Zakaat fulfilled?
Answer
Yes, your Zakaat is discharged. It is not necessary to mention that the money given is Zakaat. But there must be the intention of Zakaat at the time of giving it.
