The father made an error when naming the daughter to be married. He has a few daughters. The daughter Maryam was supposed to be the bride, but the father mistakenly told the Imaam that Aishah is the bride. Thus at the nikah the name Aishah was mistakenly mentioned. Was the nikah valid? The nikah to Aishah was valid despite her name being erroneously mentioned. However, the validity is suspended on Aishah‟s approval. If she does not approve, then the husband should issue Talaaq to Aishah, if he so wishes, then his nikah should be performed with Maryam.
