My father has opened a savings account for me. However, I am not allowed to use any of the money. I have no control over the account. Who has to pay the Zakaat on the savings?
Answer
The money in the savings account belongs to your father, not to you regardless of the accounts being in your names. The Zakaat has to be paid by your father.
