Question
The Imaam of the Musjid is a faasiq. I feel uncomfortable performing Salaat behind him. Should I rather perform Salaat at home?
Answer
Salaat is valid behind even a faasiq. If the Imaam is a faasiq, then too it remains Waajib to perform Salaat with Jamaat behind him. Abstaining from Jamaat Salaat because the Imaam is a faasiq is sinful. When in a Musjid, don't worry about who the Imaam is. Don't try to ascertain if he is a faasiq or not. Just perform your Salaat and leave.
