My father favours one of his sons. He does not give all his children equal gifts. Should parents not treat all children equally?
Answer
The children who were discriminated against have absolutely no right to oppose their parents or to be insolent because of them not having treated all the children equally. They have to accept silently and understand well that they are children regardless of their adulthood and they have to obey and respect their parents. The reasons for your father's action and intention are known best to him. If he has no valid reason, he will have to answer to Allah Ta'ala. But the children may not be insolent or disrespectful to him for any perceived injustice he is committing.
