One of my sisters got her 1 year old baby a doll that plays the sound of a human heartbeat and mimics human breathing, apparently it helps the baby sleep through the night. She covers the eyes of the doll. I believe it is haraam. What closer than an idol in a form of a doll can you get, also for so many years we all had children and they slept. When I sit and hear this, should I talk and say it is haraam and be the cause of a debate or should I just listen and ignore it? I then feel guilty.
Answer
You may not ignore the haraam which your sister is committing. It is the obligation of all Muslims to proffer naseehat. Obviously the doll is haraam. The baby sleeps with shaitaan. The evil effects of shaitaan may surface later. Just offer naseehat without debating. If your sister justifies her haraam act, simply maintain silence. Do not argue. Your obligation is to only state the truth.
