If a person has sufficient funds for Hajj, but uses up the funds before the months of Hajj, will Hajj be compulsory on him?

Question

If a person has sufficient funds for Hajj, but uses up the funds before the months of Hajj, will Hajj be compulsory on him?

Answer

Hajj becomes Fardh on a person only if he has the means during the Hajj months. If a person is a millionaire before the Hajj months, Hajj is not Fardh on him if he has lost the money before the Hajj months.
