Question
On Fridays, the Imaam gives an English talk before the Khutbah. Is it incumbent to listen to the talk? Can I engage in thikr/tilaawat instead of listening to the talk?
Answer
It is not obligatory to listen to the English talk. You are free to engage in Thikr, Tilaawat and Nafl ibaadat.
