While performing the nikah, the Imaam mentioned the wrong name for the bride. He mistakenly mentioned the name of the bride‟s sister. Is the nikah valid?
Answer
The nikah is valid with the woman whom the Imaam had mistakenly named, not with her sister. The husband should issue Talaaq, and the nikah should be then performed with the right name being mentioned.
