In our maktab the Ustaadh has introduced Nafl jamaat for the Hifz student. A few students perform Nafl in jamaat. The student-imaam recites the qiraa‟t audibly. Is this permissible?
Answer
No! It is not permissible. The two factors of prohibition are (1) Nafl jamaat is Makrooh (not permissible) for Hanafis, and (2) Reciting audibly in Nafl during the day is not permissible. Thus, this practice is bid'ah.
