A man gave his wife three Talaaqs without intention of divorce. He mentioned the three talaaqs as a threat. What is the status of the Nikah?
Answer
All three Talaaq are effective. The word Talaaq is not reliant on intention for validity. The Talaaqs are irrevocable and the Nikah has terminated. There is no scope for reconciliation.
