Question
What are my rights as a father over my minor children whose mother has custody? Can I demand that the children spend every weekend at my home?
Answer
The father is the guardian even whilst the mother has custody. You have the right of access and visiting. But you may not keep the children overnight at your place. By Maghrib, the children must be back at their mother's place. Suitable times for access should be mutually arranged. The ex-husband may not arrange directly with his ex -wife. The arrangement should be made via a senior of the family.
