The deceased woman left behind 5 sons and a daughter. Her few assets were divided according to the Shariah. However, the small room in which she was living has not been divided in any way. The eldest son says that this room must be kept for visitors. Some of the heirs do not agree. What should be done in this case?
Answer
The eldest son erred and committed haraam by imposing his will on the other children. The small room belongs to all the heirs. If the elder brother wants to retain the room, then he should set a proper value for it and pay the other heirs who do not agree to his proposal.
