Question
A mother and wife mentioned that their menfolk who are studying at a Darul Uloom in Robertsham have to compulsorily go for an outing to Warmbaths or some resort now in September. Apparently chalets are booked and the students and Asaatizah go. I am wondering what does this have to do with the acquisition of Ilm and then also leaving all the womenfolk while the men go on a holiday in the name of the compulsory rule of the Madrasah. The womenfolk did mention that they don't feel safe having to stay alone at home. Is this rule of the Madrasah proper?
Answer
Darul Ulooms in this age are teaching Ilm for the Dunya. They are signs of Qiyaamah. It is mentioned in the Hadith that among the signs of Qiyaamah is that Ilm will be imparted for worldly objectives. The rule of this Darul Uloom highlights the sign of Qiyaamah mentioned in the Hadith. The rule is haraam. The outing is haraam. It is pure nafsaaniyat.
