An organization gives prizes to those who sight the moon first. Is this permissible?
Answer
The prizes which they dole out for sighting the moon are just like giving prizes for performing Salaat. Moon-sighting is an ibaadat. The prizes are haraam. Such money is not permissible. These ulama are evil. They do not have any Deen in their hearts.
