Question
Many people present the argument that there is a need for Muslim female gynaecologists within our community. So it is therefore important to send your daughters to study this profession. They state that how can people say that they don't want to send their daughters to study while they are the same people who want their wives to be attended to by Muslim female gynaecologists when the need arises. Can Mufti saahib please advise?
Answer
The 'need' as mentioned earlier is imaginary. It is a fiction whispered into the hearts by shaitaan. The 'need' does not justify Akhlaaqi emasculation and Imaani deracination. The 'need' when translated into reality is adequately fulfilled by - Muslim male and female physicians. A female Muslim gynaecologist is in the category of stolen halaal meat. If in a desperate situation a Muslim is confronted with the two evils: stolen halaal meat and pork, it will be permissible, in fact Waajib, to opt for the stolen halaal meat.
