I am a Shaafi‟. I have some qadha fasts of Ramadhaan which I shall be keeping. I had missed these fasts three years ago. What is the Shaafi ruling for me?
Answer
You have to pay one Moed grain for each year plus you have to fast. Thus for the fasts missed three years ago, you have to pay three Moed for each fast not made before the next Ramadhaan. The Moed amount is about R70 for Shaafis.
