An Islamic council issued the following fatwa: ―Question: Does the use of sublingual medication (placed under the tongue) invalidate the fast according to the Hanafi and Shāfiʿī Madhāhib?
Answer
According to the Hanafi and Shāfiʿī schools, medication placed sublingually (under the tongue) or supralingually (on top of the tongue), and absorbed through the oral mucosa (the lining of the mouth), does not invalidate the fast so long as none of it is swallowed or passes into the throat.
If any portion of the medication is swallowed or reaches the throat - whether deliberately or accidentally - the fast is invalidated.

Answer
The answer is incorrect. The fast will break. It is simple to understand that some of the medication will slip down the throat. Imagining that it does not, is to induce stupidity which produces reckless ‗fatwas'.
