Is it permissible to use solar-heated water? There is a Hadith saying that water heated by the sun can cause disease of the skin. Some ulama say that the Hadith is weak, hence not valid.
Answer
Yes, according to the Hadith water heated in the sun causes or can cause skin disease. However, we cannot say with certitude that the prohibition stated in the Hadith applies to solar-heated water as well. The Hadith mentions water exposed directly to sunlight. What the „some ulama‟ say is bunkum. Water exposed directly to the sun should not be used.
